Great to see isn’t it
Ok, am I being incredibly cynical to think that that the emergence of the 2 year old video of Dembele and Griezemann making racial jokes about Japanese people might have been an inside job?
Griezemann has already been dropped by a Konami (a Japanese tech company) and Barca are reportedly weighing up internal sanctions about the both of them. Given their primary company is a Japanese tech company, they could probably claim the release of this has direct financial consequences for them. Could they have purposefully released as a pretext for punishing the players (at least Dembele) to the point of cancelling his contract without penalty to get his wages off their books?
its not impossible.
I mean they are the club of this
Would love to see the bottom fall out of Barca.
For a few years anyhow
Scummy club. Hope they are stuck unable to reduce wages and somehow properly fucked over. And take Pep with them.
I thought this was an interesting watch regarding Barcelonas situation. Although Messi leaving would resolve their wage issue, he is also a large part of their marketing, so they lose him they lose big profit.
Personally I’d quite like to see them suffer a lot here.
Believe it or not I have a friend in Spain who reckons barca are in advanced negotiations to bring in Ronaldo
Messi isn’t actually the problem. He is out of contract so not included in their current wage budget, yet they are still 200M over the cap so can’t resign him until they bring that 200M down. #FuckingHilarious
Yes, but they can’t afford to lose him from a marketing perspective so would rather keep him and have a fire sale. When they’re paying Griezman £750kpw you know it will eventually go pop.
Get Pedri on the babelcopter.
They already have lost him though. He is out of contract but to resign him, they need to drop the rest of the squads’ wage budget.
They are basically fucked no matter what happens.
Yep!
This was actually mentioned a few weeks ago, Laporta was said to be keen on the idea. Doesn’t really compute though, with the stuff that’s come out on their wage issues.
I also read that Ronaldo, who has one year left on his deal at Juve, is in discussions to extend that, however Juve are not seen keen on his huge wages. Like with Messi, they got paid so much no one else can afford them unless they take cuts.
I have a friend in France who says Mbappe is coming to LFC…
Think Mckola is probably right when he says La Liga will find a way to bend the rules for Barcelona for the “greater good”. Would be a massive blow to the leagues viewing figures, both on tv and in stadiums, should Messi move elsewhere because they can’t reduce that wage bill enough.
Also think it was an interesting point made by one of them who said about clubs coming in for any of their players now could easily just say we’ll take them for free and not bother to offer a transfer fee. Feels like they’ve shot themselves in the foot a bit by allowing it to become public knowledge that they would be happy to terminate the contracts of Pjanic and Umtiti, possibly Coutinho as well.
Personally would love to see us try to tempt them with horrendously lowball offers for Pedri, Fati and De Jong. I imagine realistically they are three unattainable players but ya never know if this situation continues to drag on and they become even more desperate.
Have people been seeing these leaked tapes of Perez? It’s hysterical.
Yesterday it was that Casillias was shit and not good enough for Real and that Raul was a monster who used Real only for his own and tried to make them shit so people would attribute his failures to Real rather than him.
Today tapes have been released with him criticizing Ronaldo and Jose.
The only defense of them so far has been a misdirection about ulterior motives for the tapes being released, which is essentially an admission that they’re really bad for him.
“Dont listen to that awful stuff I said, think about why someone would want you to know I said this awful stuff. They’re the real bad guy.”
