Lionel Messi- where next?

List of places I’d never want to live:
1, North Korea
2, Saudi Arabia
3, Florida

My one tiny little alcove in the cosmopolitan, relatively progressive heart of downtown orlando is nice. The rest of Florida can go fuck itself though

Sensible :+1:

It’s so easy to see that the GK let that one in FFS!!!

That attempted save reminded me of Dida against Smicer in Istanbul, albeit on the other side.

I do feel they are trying to let him win this leagues cup.

Sad really.

Guy is incredible, always comes up with more special moments.

Its just a normal goal I’m not sire it needs the “INSANE!” tag.

The good thing about Messi’s move to US is that soccer does get talked about on US tv now (I remember last season’s CL final wasn’t even brought up the next day on these talking head shows) even if all they really do is say “look at this goal by Messi”.

The bad thing is that soccer is now talked about on US tv and you occassionally have to hear the opinion of Colin Cowheard or Steven A Smith on a game they know less than nothing about.

I’m glad that Messi resisted the Saudi money, and I’m happy for him as he seems to be playing with joy.

Past his best, jogging for most of the game these days, before springing into life at the opportune moment, but still very capable of excellent moments. To be fair, he has provided a steady supply of those since he arrived.

It is helping to grow the game here and getting it a bit more talked about.

He’s still taking Saudi money, but he can do that while taking US money at the same time.

Bloke’s got a gob on him Jesus Christ! And happy to share his opinion whether you asked or not

The son from American Dad?

You can go back to his time playing for Pep and see him play in the same way. Rafa did something similar with Torres. He got him to do something that ostensibly looked like doing less defending, but in reality what he was doing was constantly trying to find the right position such that if we won the ball back he would be immediately dangerous. It often looks like standing still because one of the smartest things a forward can do is that when they find themselves in space to not run away from it

spot on. any striker worth his salt is looking for space and a good angle to receive the ball. Messi has made a career in the pocket, as have other prolific forwards

I’m sure Messi eats these all the time.

Is the taste of victory a cardiac disease?

How funny would it be to have West Ham or Crystal Palace players spruiking the likes of Nobu, Chez Bruce, Marcus or Cycene.

All those families who spent hundreds of dollars to watch him play in person, so sad

Ridiculous they have to put a statement out for that. You should be getting tickets to support your team not the players on the other side
