Brad Jones was terrible.
As was Mingolet and Karius.
He’s not as bad as any of those. Compared to Alisson however it’s a massive drop out. Then again bar his kicking I’m not sure he was massively at fault though I didn’t see one of the goals.

Again very impressed by Nyoni, calm and collected.
Disappointed by Kerkez lack of concentration in the 2nd half. Not happy with Elliott’s lack of fitness, and very very disappointed in Jones of poor positioning and focus, not doing his defensive duties multiple times. Not impressed by Grav, especially after that wonderful showing by Nyoni.

The only reason it’s not a success is because two lads went off with injuries.
Thats it. Cope or not. The fact is 3 of that second half team probably starts the first game, and it might be down to 2 when we are still 2-1 up.
Actually Kerkez went off so it’s probably Grav and maybe Marma. But I’m not even sure he starts if Alisson is around. Maybe Ramsey as we have no other option.
I guess Grav looking poor isn’t helped by how good Wirtz and Isak looked in the same period of pre season return.

Useful exercise for Iraola as he has learned that Elliot and Jones should be fired from a cannon asap. Both were dogshit wrapped in catshit and with Grav looking like he was still on the beach we completely lost midfield and stopped pressing.
Let’s face it, a lot of footballers are brain dead and we saw that in the schoolboy fashion we gave up four goals, three from setpieces where our guys thought it was a good idea to leave DCL completely unmarked ffs. You can’t really blame the kids either because both Kerkez and Jones (of course) were the culprits.
First half excellent though and Trey, Dom, Flo and Ndukwe were great. Isak was okayish but they need to learn the system before he can be effective. Pressing first half was great and second half it vanished. I think AI will be a bit pissed, especially with Kerkez. Scanlon was good and trying when he came on but I think AI should have also given Abe a shot.
Onwards and upwards though.

AI saying it was the most useful game of the lot because he learned a lot. Attitude might be a word being used a lot in training from Monday on.

The mix of players was wrong and there were no experienced lads to cope with Leeds set pieces. We are back again worrying about the backline.

Yeah, exactly, but maybe it just takes him longer to grasp the system change. It looked like he had absolutely no idea what to do when not in possession of the ball, either.

He was shocking. One of the most annoying things was seeing Harry Wilson come on and completely take control of the game. The Harry Wilson we got rid of but kept Jones and Elliot. Great work back offce. We will be saying the same thing about Tyler Morton soon.

Tbf we got rid of Wilson 4 years ago when he was still playing in the championship, we were never going to wait that long for him to finally put a decent season together in the Prem, nor should we have…meanwhile we were finding success with the likes of Jones/Harvey in the squad. If they’re no longer good enough then we’ll do with them what we did with Harry…move them on and profit.

Yeah I don’t mind that we moved Wilson on before, it’s just a pity we didn’t pick him back up on a free this window. He’d have been a good option now.

Wilson has been playing great stuff for three seasons now. Last season he was so outstanding it couldn’t be ignored but the previous two were also terrific. I mean, you can’t get every call right but Klopp really liked Harry and didn’t want him to go. I’m just pissed at how effective he was in a new side when our guys looked like strangers.
