Liverpool FC - Pre-season (Part 2)

Hopefully the second part later will be an improvement, if not can you ask for your money back if you feel you’ve been overcharged for a month’s free trial of LFC TV?

Let’s wait and see if our new goalkeeping coach can bring about some positive changes. That will certainly take some time. But it is annoying as things stand. Still, at least we kept a clean sheet.

No the commentator was wrong, the CB’s at the end were Endo and Ndiaye, Chambers pushed inti midfield alongside Nyoni.

Nyoni was filling in correctly as Ndiaye had followed his player into midfield.

Very hard to make a player/keeper suddenly become adept at passing, although they surely should identify areas he should be hitting and the trajectory.

Kelleher, mentioned this when he went Brentford how the coaches talked about trajectory.

I know from playing that a flatter trajectory is far easier for an attacker to protect the ball or flick it on.

Chambers played most of his academy years in midfield and can fill in as a 6.

The thing about Mama’s kicking is that he just cannot adjust his feet quickly and if he’s asked to do something quickly he panics and hoofs. He needs to do a season on Strictly to learn how to get rid of the Bambi syndrome.

Looks like he needs to work on trajectory, direction and level of thrust - might have benefited from doing GCSE Physics over the off-season

And a bit of geometry

Anyway, the pick of the bunch by far in that game was Munoz who looked dynamic, clever and confident.
The negative - and I don’t want to be piling on unnecessarily - was Harvey Elliot again. He was dreadful. Even our own commentators remarked he was ‘lacking confidence’.

Hmm..maybe it takes a Basque to get him away from there. Start now, see if he’s ready for it next summer.

Assume Munoz and Trey make the bench later.

the ball will arrive at its destination the next day?

Nah, the media will tell everyone he hit a pinperfect pass to the right wing when in truth to ended up on the left of midfield

Sounds like a lesser version of Lewis Hall. I mean, a left full-back who can play like a midfielder.

I’d like us to poach Hall should Newcastle relegates next season (hint: their entire midfield and their strongest attacker plus their coach were all gone).

He might already be gone by then. Big talent.

Interesting Chiesa played so few minutes in what was already an abbreviated game. Do you think some of those players will do double duty as subs in the second game?

I’m guessing they will, maybe to ramp up their minutes. I think Munoz and Elliott went off ten minutes into the second half, together with Chiesa(?), meaning they all played 45.

That LfcTV commentator ffs

I thought I’d misheard—PTSD and all that—but he really said it. :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

He was, but in fairness it was a poor lineup. The kid Mcconnell kinda in the 10, Elliott on the right and then Chiesa up top? Not a good setup for any of them , to be fair.

Yeah I assume Munoz and Macallister played this because they were back late and thus probably don’t feature next week.

You’ll pretty much see our team for next week in the second.
