Liverpool FC - Pre-season

Klopp Out

ten

And @FowlersLeftPeg update the table comparison. I need to know how many preseason points we had last year.

Was there any reason we played against two teams?

Surely just one of the teams would have agreed to play a match with two 30 minute halves and unlimited subs?

Anyway, nothing more than a fitness booster, nothing more to learn from it.

Klopp explained in the pre-match. The fitness level will only allow for a 30-min game. Only these two clubs agreed to play 30-min game.

I find it hard to believe one of the teams wouldn’t have agreed to a 60 minute game.

Also means less teams mixing in covid terms.

We played two separate teams sarvi. If we want a very high intensity contest for both our teams, we either need opposition with the squad size of us who can play two separate teams as well ( maybe none available in Austria), or two clubs. Only surprise is that one is Stuttgart which unless I fucked up my geography is a longer drive away than the minutes played, so unless they were in the area I don’t see how it was worth it for them.

Stuttgart and Wacker also played against each other.

One could ask themself if Elliott is more a 10 than a winger … :upside_down_face:

One question lads: where was Curtis Jones yesterday? Isn’t he part of the pre-season yet? Why didn’t he play?

Curtis was watching with Thiago and a few others. I suspect he will start the match on Friday.

Thiago already in camp? Thought he was having vacation.

Didn’t see the games but what’s the first Impressions of Konate? Starter alongside big Virg or rotation?

More pointedly, which paring is likely to start the first game?

From the few videos I have seen both Gomez and Matip are looking good. Matip is so impressive that I feel he’s going to rip some EPL clubs a new …
So as it stands I’m going with Matip and VVD against Norwich, no wait a minute perhaps Gomez VVD, really? I haven’t a clue.

Are VVD and Gomez fully fit? - was where I was going with my question.

Matip set the bar for VvDs partner really high in the past and Joe almost on the same level.

Fitness wise Joel and Konate are ahead of Virg and Joe but a lot can happen in 25 days.

What impresses me the most with Matip is that he often doesn’t need much time after injuries to give some great performances. Makes him actually a very good third choice CB.
