Who is James Carrollā¦
Second-half team v Mainz: Adrian, N. Williams, Phillips, Koumetio, Beck, Clarkson, Gordon, Morton, Jones, Minamino, Origi.
Naby is king of the preseasons.
Adrian follows the ball like a 60 year old in goal.
Jump on it
He went for goal there he must have been watching Adrian play for us.
With all the changes its expected. No patern of play from either side.
1-0 Liverpool og.
Great cross that, was a tap in for Gordon if the defender misses.
A suitably rubbish goal for a rubbish game.
Well done to Beck though, hasnāt done himself any harm with these two performances.
Well done Koumetio there.
Killian has scored for us then
Ohhh, Curtis Jones should have leave the ball. He was in the offside position, but the player next to him wasnāt. Nice goal but didnāt count.
Anyhow nice to win 1-0
Out drinking who scored the Og??
Luca Kilian.
New summer signing, Mbappe?
On whether Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez could return against Hertha BSC next weekā¦
Yeah, it would still be a surprise, unfortunately. But they look really good. Look, I think, they do everything, they play football, we keep them in training, we do the things we can do, they donāt too much and stuff like this. We just have to be patient ā we prepare for a full season, not for a pre-season game. I will not risk it for a game here, so we have to see. We have a lot of games still coming, pre-season games, but I donāt see them being involved for the next one.
Why bother, spare them for Bilbao/Osasuna.
Will we have another season where we find it difficult to score goals?
From my experience of FM this is a myth. A preseason where you bang in goals more often than not meant difficulty scoreing during the season and Difficulty in scoring during preseason often resulted in banging them in during the season.
I suppose the programming was that scoring during preseason meant complacency stepped in whilst if scoring was difficult during preseason meant the strikers and team worked harder at fixing the problem.
Then again I donāt think FM has much bearing on reality.
