Must be upper body, he was moving fine yesterday.
FFS, one of our key midfield players won’t get a proper pre-season now… if you count in Hendo that’s already too much I’m afraid… Hopefully it’s really a minor one only, and he’ll be able to train soon again, fingers crossed!
We’ll know in 3 months
Every time Keita or Ox thread pops up from here on…
A full time Sanitiser what a job. Travels with the reds around the world sanitising tables.
Fuck yeah.
I’d do that job
“Dad, what do you do at work?”
“I protect hundreds of millions of £££ worth of investments from covid”
Did you ever hear the story about à US President (JFK i think) visiting NASA and going round doing all the photo opportunities talking to people etc and he was speaking to a bloke with a broom who was like a cleaner/janitor type and he asked him what do you do here. The reply was “well Mr President I put people on the moon“
Thé moral of the story is that everybody has a part to play.
With out the guy cleaning the floors, somebody else would have had to do it and it would have taken focus off their job, and so on up the chain of command so the idea was that everybody, no matter how irrelevant their job seems, played a part in putting a guy on the moon.
I fucking love that story and that outlook.
You get the feeling that LFC is like that, particularly under Klopp anyhow.
(Edited)Thiago’s slight knock really doesnt bode well given that the season is starting soon (like in a few weeks) I suppose we can only watch. Hopefully this Bologna game will be worth seeing how we do and who can play a further role in the squad.
I’d be beyond pissed off if we have another season stifled by injuries and with certain players track records, I would cross fingers for the entire season.
Hopefully it will come to nothing although when we announced Thiago there were a lot of people on here who questioned his injury record from past seasons
I think I’ve read in a recent interview that the knock was something he was already carrying when he returned to training? If so then it’s probably just a matter of making sure that he treats it properly, instead of having a Keïta done on him…
Lijnders:
“Thiago has been joining in parts of team training more and more. He came back with a slight issue, so we’re managing him. It’s great to see him coming close to completing his rehab.”
CONFIRMED TEAM NEWS - MATCH ONE
Liverpool’s teamsheet for the first of today’s games has landed and it confirms a start for Virgil van Dijk, while Diogo Jota joins the attack from the off.
Starting XI: Kelleher, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson, Milner, Keita, Elliott, Jota, Mane, Salah.
Subs: Karius, Pitaluga, R. Williams, Woodburn, Beck.
Keita’s seeing plenty of pre-season action. God, if that guy could stay fit what a boost that would be.
Looking ahead to the Norwich game, do we think it’s Milner and Keita plus maybe Fabinho in midfield? It seems logical at the moment.
Yes, I think that’s looking most likely right now.
Probably something like this:
Alisson, Trent, Konate, Matip, Robertson, Milner, Fabinho, Keita, Salah, AOC, Mané would be my guess.
Agree with pretty much all of that, but I think it’ll be Firmino up front. Seems like both him and Fabinho returned without any issues, so I’m thinking both will be ready.
For some reason I had it in my head that Firmino saw a lot more minutes in the Copa America than Fabinho and might benefit from slightly more of a break but actually there wasn’t much in it (approximately half a game more for Firmino).
