Liverpool FC V Real Madrid - 8pm (CL 27/11/2024)

Not the most important match of the season. For us at least. Madrid can not afford to get beaten here. They have some injury problems aswell.

Hope we can rest a few players because City have an extra day to prepare.

Any chance for Trent and Kostas to be back next week?

Trent sounded like he was further away than Jota and Alisson to be fair.

What’s wrong with Tsimikas anyone know? He was in training on Friday.

A knock in training.

Hopefully it’s short term then.

Least we aren’t travelling for the next week.

I’d rest Robbo if there is no chance of Tsimikas being back for eithier game to be honest.

From the talk it seemed to suggest Jota could be back for City.

Scrap that it seems Slot said Trent could be back for Man City and not Jota.

Seems it’s this
Tsimikas - Unknown
Jota - After Man City
Alison - After Man City
TAA - Man City
Chiesa - Spin the wheel.

Trent [Alexander-Arnold] isn’t training with us yet but he’s getting there so we expect him to be back for us soon."

However, Slot did suggest Alexander-Arnold could return in time for Wednesday’s Champions League clash match against Real Madrid, but said he “does not expect” either Alisson or Diogo Jota to be in contention.

“The only thing I can say is that with Alisson and with Jota, I don’t expect them to be available for that game,” he said. “With Trent, it’s going to be in between.”

This was from Friday.

Have the feeling Kostas will be on bench at least vs Real.

How we capitulated so completely in that game still saddens me.

This has to be the least meaningful Liverpool v Madrid game in history, aside from maybe a “legends” game. Almost nothing on the line for us, other than exorcising a few demons. Still hope we smash ‘em, but most importantly want to come out the other side with no new injuries.

Would like to see minutes for Gomez, Quanseh, and Harvey if he’s fit enough for 20-30 minutes off the bench.

If we beat by them, does it start becoming any bad for them concerning their qualification?

They’ve got Atalanta, Salzburg and Brest after us, so you’d expect them to qualify even after we beat them on Wednesday.

That said, Mendy is on the bench while Garcia started at LB. Possibly to save Mendy for Salah.

No pressure

See further down the blame is elsewhere

Legannes are doing their best to injure some Madrid players anyhow :joy:

It was a fucking humiliation.

Which one are you referring to?

Could have been either of the CL finals, or the time Brendan played the reserves
