Not tonight. Yet, anyway. But I have had it on match days in the past at times.
If we win there will be bits of the performance to build on. If we don’t then the reasons why have already been evident.

Yes we were a bit better but…We also have to acknowledge that Mama kept us in the game with some decent saves tbf. Villa had their chances unfortunately.

Very happy with the half time lead. I’m reasonably happy with the performance as well. Our forwards have been pressuring their keeper and defence which may not immediately regain possession, but forces them into suboptimal passes. That has eventually resulted in the mistake that lead to the goal.
I’m interested to see how Slot handles his subs.

Much better after the first 20 minutes.
Digne has been roasted by Mo has has been caught moving in to get too tight and Mo has completely done him with deft touches/flicks around him using his momemtum against him, great awareness from Mo

I’d love to see a second goal in the first 15 minutes of the half, providing Slot some solid time to experiment - top of list being Wirtz

Yes. No conclusions can be made based on just this game let alone the half. Although the positive is Mama who had been getting some criticisms is making those saves and keeping us in it. Need to become much more resilient and not allow them go through our midfield so easily. Baby steps like put above.
