Try a 442 diamond. Put Salah up front with Ekitike (leave Isak on the bench unless he’s 100%). If Jones can play, slot him in. If he can’t, then consider bumping Grav up and putting Endo in the base of the diamond. Endo can slide back to help form a Back 3.

I don’t entirely disagree. I’d prefer to play Jones or - most ideally - a fit and firing Macca. But I’m not sure what the alternative is. We could go a 4-3-3, but I think that leaves us too exposed to the very issues which have plagued us thus far.

I want our wingers bombing forward to offer us width along the touchline and making overlapping and underlapping runs. I don’t want Kerkez or Robbo or Bradley having to play the role of a third CB in possession. If I had to pick one to do that, it would be Grav. But if he’s playing slightly forward in my formation, then we need Endo to offer some stability at the back between Virg and Ibou.

He’s never going to show anything if the only time he gets on the pitch is when AS hangs everyone out to dry.
You may be right though, he’d have to be at 100% the whole game to compete. I’d still give it a go.

I actually think Endo’s passing is underrated, especially when he has time and he also competes for everything, the issue is that he is slow but so is Macca.
