As I said, utterly hilarious if it happens.

That would be funny. Because if this happens, the first tie would be at London again!

League might take a dim view of them sending out two loanees just days before the match was scheduled.

Someone’s gonna have to score the last minute winner against Bayern in the CL final

If we play Bobby and Jota in the 4-3-3, put Jota on the right. We can always put the more combining options in the slightly deeper left half space; likes of Taki, Jones, Ox. Origi in a different way also.

Doesn’t make much sense to put a combining player like Taki in Salah’s position, that would be totally different dynamic on that side of the pitch. We can’t just throw players just to make an XI and not think about what we usually do and what are the skills of our remaining players right now.

Jota is the only player we have currently to try and replicate Salah’s movement in behind, from right to central, to get on the end of things and score goals.

Not saying it would be my only solution, but it’s the one that makes most sense to me. Then with a game or two, we see how it looks like and we can maybe switch some things.

I get it - but Jota is a right footed finisher. He will be more effective coming in from the left.

He’s good with either foot. In fact, I think he’s scored more with his left this year than his right.

If only we had another left footed attacker…Harvey would be a good option. Alas.

I think he’s back in training soon.

Think Harvey might be among the subs for Cardiff.

His weaker foot finishing is good, can score different types of goals. Out of our front 4, he can probably play most of these attacking positions, followed by Mane. If we play Jota off the left, then we have to play someone very different to Mo on the right. Jota is not Mo of course, but can probably be closest to that of our all current players. I mean, we can play Jota off the left, but then we’d have to change our dynamic on the right also.

I expect quite a performance tonight. Home crowd roaring us on. AFCON crew will be shouting for us too I suspect.

Tonight whilst not total make or break is going to probably start to clarify the long term future of Taki, hope he smashes it. He needs to be able to step up and deliver consistently, let’s start tonight when it matters against a decent team.

Maybe in the eyes of fans, but I doubt the management team will see it that way. He’s playing a particular role in this team, and they seem more than satisfied with him thus far.

My point is more Taki is 26, he is at a point where he should be hitting his prime but also playing lots of minutes. You could be right and he is happy with a bit part role, but it’s rare to find a player who at this point of their career is happy to just sit on the bench.

This is literally his best opportunity to get some consistent minutes whilst Mane/Salah are away and show what he is fully capable of, which has been near impossible to date due to how good they are.

Smash them ! Maybe they will be shit, but even if they are good, let’s be better and smash them !

Agreed, so far he hasn’t really been up to the standards, despite some quality showed in between. If he wants to become a regular he needs to increase his general presence on the pitch and become far more dominant. This game may be just the sort he could shine in.
