Does his upper body look significantly shorter than his lower body, or is it just his neck?

Iā€™m very happy because of this, hopefully Trent will extend and some other kids will break through into Liverpoolā€™s first team. Quansah and Bradley surely had a hand in this, too. Iā€™m just wondering which former/on loan Liverpool academy graduates made the difference between two graphs, my mind is jammed at the moment.

Sterling, Wilson, Brewster, Coady, Larouci and maybe theyā€™re also including Gordon.

Although I must admit I actually donā€™t like just using Premier League minutes as a sign of success because it perpetuates this mindset of anything other than being in the PL means youā€™re not good.

For example Liverpool developed both the current Blackburn Rovers and Oxford United captains. Is that not success?

Then on the flip side you also have these minutes being pumped up by less than ideal situations - Man Utd play Rashford every second heā€™s available because they apparently fell into the trap of believing he was as good as the hype claimed. Heā€™s playing absolutely terribly and still plays but they get ā€œcreditā€ on this chart for that.

And also itā€™s the question of how far back you should go and how relevant it is, etc. Many factors here. Given how readily so many clubs buy up ex-United players no matter how terrible they areā€¦

Alvin Aymanā€™s transfer has also been completed.

Iā€™m surprised at the Ā£2m compensation fee being mentioned for Ayman. Is that normal for such a young player, or is he just so highly rated?

Cost of living crisis, inflation, innit.

Yeah, itā€™s a bit like net spend. If you start with a narrative in your head you can find a way to fudge the rules for what counts and what doesnt for the data to say what it needs to for it to be supported. Remember when Utd fans pretended Fergie was operating on a low net spend because they always started the clock after heā€™d spent a fortune buying Rio and Rooney?

How many years do they need to have been with us and until what age to count? How late can they have arrived and still count? I mean are we really reflecting what we think weā€™re are by including Brewsterā€™s minutes for us in these stats? A player for whom liverpool was more of a finishing school, where he arrived already looking for first team minutes and then those he has got came almost exclusively elsewhere.

The other thing is what is the value of the minutes? Is it better for us to have had Quansah, Trent and Jones contributing minutes as a valued members of the team or for Utd to get more minutes from their graduates, but of those probably 90% came from Rashford and McTominay, players who the fans use as scapegoats precisely because they are academy graduates and so should be Utd DNAing better, or some shit like that?

Kone-Doherty and Trey Nyoni are being given some very rough treatment. Referee is mostly allowing Milan to boot them all over the field.

Its the best first team preparation they could get :see_no_evil:

These highlights packages always are a bit misleading if you ask me. He had a tough time out there against Milan, they targetted him for some rough treatment - Kone-Doherty too - and he didnā€™t have a lot of influence.

You know, not everyone here knows the boy as well as you do and itā€™s nice for others to get at least a little impression of him, even if it is, as you say, a little misleading, you can still recognize his talent tbf.

I understand Iā€™m just saying that these packages remove the context quite a bit. Iā€™m glad people get to enjoy his quality and thatā€™s heā€™s getting recognition.

I think @Sweeting was just providing additional context to the video, which is always welcome! Iā€™d like to think of it as the best of both worlds, having as much information as possible.
