There must be a jinx on all our players at all levels and even those before they join us!!!
But of course he is…
Anyone know what is McConnell’s injury?
Out for the rest of this season?
I don’ think we have the right man in charge at first team level but I’m really happy with Rob Page and Simon Wiles at U21 and U18 level so far. They seem to have made a really big impact in both progression and results.
They seem to be great. Results improving in the second half of the season.
Seem to have made improvements in a couple of players too!
How do the teams at that level set up and play in comparison with the first team? I thought it would have a similar structure and play style - but i dont know how that works when the first team is dysfunctonal (and perhaps my thinking is nieve)?
There is a big focus on advancing quickly up the field and winning the ball back. It’s very fast paced and high energy. Pretty much the exact opposite of the first team really.
The formation they play in is more or less the same but I think the youth teams have a closer style to what the club envisions than our senior side at the moment.
is there much truth in the rumours that Arne cant be bothered to watch them?

I can’t say really, even with the likes of Klopp and Dalglish they would only turn up occassionally. I do see a good number of U21s brought up to first team training so I don’t think he’s against the youth system as much as some people claim.
If I’m not mistaken, there was a photo of Slot at one of the youth games recently, no? These days it’s also easier than before, with all men selections at one place. We also see Spearing present in a lot of first team training sessions, probably with a focus exactly on those young players called up to train.
Pretty sure Jürgen credited Lijnders with being the one who would watch the kids and suggest them?
Chuffed for the young lad.

Celtic are set to lose a promising defender to the Premier League side.
Virgil has been at a few recently.
You couldn’t make it up. ![]()
Real shame for the kid as he showed a lot of promise a few years back, but it’s clearly not going to work out for him here.
All hope has been transferred over into the Will Wright basket.
Isnt Wright himself coming back from a nasty injury? Anyway Pearce suggesting it was a proper injury and not a precaution
It’s all gone to Kieran Morrison you mean? Also note we are stocking up on CBs
