Liverpool Youth Teams Thread

Would really love for him to make it here, he has the right attitude and work rate, just hope he gets to the the level technically and clinically.

If he doesn’t, the way Iraola is treating him and hopefully other youth players will help to increase their value if sold.

Some are calling him our own ‘Adam Wharton’ in time to come. Top 5 in a number of passing stats for the U18 league and number 1 in progressive passes I think.

Will Wright at it again.

3-1 down going into stoppage time, the youngsters end up winning the tie 7-6 on penalties. Played 70 minutes with 10 men as well. Great effort.

Seems to be having a very strong start to the season, with some great little turns when receiving the ball.

It’s interesting that he’s been getting on the left wing - and actually looking quite tricky out there.

I think that might be the first time we’ve won a game in that tournament, I won’t call it by its new sponsors nickname but it sums up the joke it is really.

Will Wright with back to back quality performances where he’s dominated much older defenders and shown nifty work for a tall lad. It’s difficult to remember he’s only 18 when you see him fronting up big guys and turning them. Seems to have raised his game a notch this season and if he keeps up his attitude it’s going to pay off. Great lad.

Luca Eden, 15 yr old playing for U18s. Says not to call him the next Gerrard, but then goes on to say

The sight of a dynamic, home-grown midfielder wearing the No 8 shirt, covering so much ground, thundering into tackles and dictating play with his range of passing has led to some inevitable comparisons.

But don’t call him the next Gerrard! We’ll drum up some attention comparing him to Gerrard, but be warned, don’t compare him to Gerrard!

Apparently he did well against Atletico in UEFA youth league as youngest player on the pitch. A name to keep an eye on.

The comparisons are unfortunately impossible not to make. Ignoring his quality, and he is an incredible prospect, there is an uncanny physical resemblance in they way he carries himself. The way he moves, his posture in the way he strikes the ball - it is a Stevie regen.

Indeed, so much so if I wonder whether there’s been an awkward discussion as to parentage at some point in time in the Eden household lol

His attitude to the game and fearlessness is very Stevie-esque, fo sure. It’s way too soon though. Lots of talent in the Academy right now. I love that stuff. His forehead is way to large for parentage issues to be raised though. :joy:
