O’Rourke has 8 goals in 13 appearances. Pretty sure he will have only been recalled to get him out to a better league and improve his chances of getting a professional contract when he leaves us.
I don’t really follow the loan deals but we seem to be having more than usual coming back to the club.
Am I correct and is this all explainable or do you think there are other reasons?
I’d say we are recalling loans more so than we normally do but overall the trend, in terms of ‘successful loans’ is about as expected. The first loan spell is generally the most difficult one - getting used to living in a new area, new facilities, bigger crowds than most are used to, older and more establish ed competition. Even stuff like learning how to pay bills - its a steep learning curve especially for academy kids who often have very sheltered lives.
Second loan failed, not a good season for the kid.
