Ojo had 2 assists yesterday. 1 goal and 3 assists in his last two games.
3 goals and 4 assists in 15 games for Cardiff so far.
Nice to see him finally putting a consistent run of form together. He has the talent to be a regular in the Premier League, it just has never worked out for him so far.
I felt we didn’t make it hard enough for him. His talent and physical attributes made him levels above most in the youth leagues such that he got used to not having to try that hard. Now he’s had a few years of senior football hopefully he can kick on and get the most out of his considerable potential.
Yeah that’s probably true. He was the best player in the youth system at 17 years old but stagnated from that point.
I think he was a little unfortunate about the timing of his career here. Thesedays we can pretty much choose a club for our youth players to go to, because a list of successful/useful youth players coming through our system means we are a lot more trusted to have developed a good player than we used to be. When Ojo needed a strong loan spell at 17/18, like Elliott is getting, we failed to really do that for him.

There’s also an element of leading the horse to water. Ojo never seemed the most driven of the young kids and that double page spread he did in the Echo with his missus was a massive red flag IMO.
Incredibly talented player, though, hopefully he’ll start to show it consistently.

Elliot just looks so good at that level already at only 17.
Different positions obviously but to me he’s showing as much as Bellingham did at Birmingham. Hopefully he keeps the consistency going and keeps adding goals to his game, always seems to prefer to be the creator but with that level of technical ability he can score plenty of goals like last night.
Any idea who will have a future here next year presumably people like Millar and Aroyyo will be moved on?
