Losing the midriff "wobble" or the TAN diet/exercise thread

A dark chocolate Digestive dipped half-way into a mug of hot tea… Mmmmmmmm!

Yup, no argument. That’s one reason why I dont run every day, but also the upstairs issues I have.

I find it easy to run after work, if I’m in the office. Run today (ignoring the weather) is a whole different level of motivation I struggle with. And dont talk to me about sleep.

You’re doing a good job of convincing me. I wonder if I should get one and take it with me snowboarding next week. I can get a bit Jackie Chan when snowboarding. Any recommendations?

Ha!!

I took my half-length foam job to Tignes, we got home on Monday. I was driving too, so no need to take it on a plane.

I would def recommend…however, it does hurt and takes some getting used to. Maybe not the best thing to be doing on a trip away. You don’t want to be going to hard at yourself and put yourself out of action for a bit.

My achilees heel is the left overs.

Carriage shouldn’t be a problem as I’m taking my own gear, unless they think it’s a bomb. They obviously dont weigh anything, so it’s just space. I’ll give it some serious thought I think. Ta

Roller was absolutely key to getting past my IT band problem, and it occurs to me I should get back in the habit for preventative reasons

Yeah…I use mine at least 3 or 4 times a week, and I am very inactive at the moment. Looking to ramp it up again very soon, at which point I will likely be on it almost daily.

How long (roller) do you recommend?

Exactly that one in the picture of the lovely young lady, looks exactly the same as mine.

Will measure it tomorrow and let you know.

Get your mind out of the gutter…

Never.

needless to say i can use a massage , and not the self massage as @SBYM seems to prefer

Give yourself some resting cycles, not necessarily no activity, but if you pushed your pace for 5km, make the next a more moderate one. I’d really try to think about designing a weekly cycle, where you compare your target to the prior cycle.

Back from hols and still at 13st dead. A little disappointed given that we were burning over 4000 calories per day but I guess that was compensated by a high carb diet, the odd beer and cake.

Back on it now and will need to supplement running with some resistance type training I think. Something to build flexibility won’t do any harm either. Discipline will be the issue starting afresh again.

Ive had 20 days of slacking off as well…

Light breakfasts, salad lunches and reasonable evening meals here with light jogging to get back into it. Here we go again
