Losing the midriff "wobble" or the TAN diet/exercise thread

we have a lot of SE Asian food here, and a pretty decent Thai place about 15min from my home. I made the mistake of requesting medium heat in a red curry once and I started hiccupping. that’s when I know it’s spicy hot.

I haven’t ventured into Malaysian food yet, but what I really miss is the claypot rice I had in Singapore. Pretty close to a bibimbap. that smokiness to the rice with everything else in that dish is just deadly good.

I will try to get some links for you on this. I posted a few weeks ago about a friend who is doing a support run for a cross canada venture happening right now.

there’s a ton of science into this, I’m sure that Mike has come across these issues before. Will see what he knows about it. I know he is eating 3-4x per day with various shakes/gels for nutrients and electrolyte replacement. high protein diet and big dinners once the day’s run is complete. he’ll be doing about 50km/day for 7 consecutive in a few week

I used to get Bibimbap at a particular restaurant and it was pretty legit. then they took it off the menu and I haven’t seen it in 3-4 years. I’m going to go search for it soon. it’s a craving…

OH yea… With the salted fish in it… One of the best things ever.

Now this brings back so many memories. The rice stuck at the end to the claypot which had to be almost scraped out and which was so damn tasfy

Yes any respectable claypot stall needs to have that ‘Guo Ba’.

Fuck all these diets, when you all come to Singapore, I will bring you guys for a ‘3 day gain 10kg tour’. :joy::joy:

Pigs Organ Soup :joy:

Woooo… The peppery goodness with all the intestines and liver

Some achievement that will be. Worth looking at what the ultra marathon guys do I guess. That said we’re in peak cycling season now. There’s got to be loads of info out there on what those guys do during the grand tours - Giro, Tour de France etc. These guys cram calories like nothing and still can’t maintain weight during the race. They are effectively killing themselves.

I wonder if the crowds there will be tear gased too?

I’ll be very interested in seeing how he manages his running load. He’ll have to run it in three-four splits i believe though over a period of 16hrs assuming that he gets 8 hrs per day of sleep. (the 50km per day) . Still going to be an awesome accomplishment.

what’s impressive is the main runner on his journey (and one of his ultra teammates for Canada) Dave Proctor is doing. reached 3100km last week. Dave Proctor << link to GPS - looks like he’s averaging 9km/h?!?!?

That blows my mind. I have to clarify and ask whether you meant 3100 km in what timeframe ?

Also i am able to do 13-14km in the first hour of running. And like i said can stretch myself with a little bit of training to do a 21km in 2 hrs. But then to recover from that and then do a further 30km in the day takes major respect.

since he started running across Canada about a month ago. his goal is 105km/day. wants to do all 7200km in 66 days to break the record

100 km in a day is damn near impossible. And its incredible that hes doing that. But then elite athletes

Would be very interested to find his recovery regiment. If i can do 10% of his recovery regiment. My times will be miles better.

I’ll find out from Mike in a few weeks.

Was kinda fedup this run when i didnt check the time… Thought i had a lot left in the tank and then came to a stage where i had to run 4 km in 15 min just because i was cruising on some shitty metal ballads.
