He’s been added to the shortlist according to Sky Germany. How short do you have to be to make the list?
Bayern Munich have added Liverpool and Colombia forward Luis Diaz, 28, to their shortlist as they continue to search for a top-class left winger. (Sky Germany)
Boasting about that screams tin pot/ insolvency
We need John Henry to come out and say that Liverpool have added Bayern Munich to their shortlist of feeder clubs they could purchase. That will get some Lederhosen panties in a knot.
Plettenberg is the definition of a tier 5 source. Constantly making up absolute nonsense.
Diaz has been a busy boy
They all are (them and their entourages).
It is quite simple… contact Liverpool and ask about a price. It’s not Grindr.
Alternatively all this is utter bollocks.
Good to see Bayern not been bitter about Wirtz.
That’s that, then.
That does tell us something in this story with multiple questions… but possibly without a new contract offer.
I’m a bit confused - Liverpool are not willing to offer him a new contract but are also not willing to sell him? Or Barcelona and Bayern wanted to unsettle the player by lowballing Liverpool…
Yeah this is all negotiations.
Or maybe Liverpool are perfectly happy with the level of performance and flexibility they’re getting from Diaz, considering the deal he’s on (and yeah I think we don’t know all the details about that). We could be just fine going into the last year of his deal and then see what we do in the summer of 2026 (or until then).
They’re probably looking at the reportedly fairly low wages he’s on now, versus the cost of renewing him (sign-on fee and higher wages) or replacing him (transfer fee, plus sign-on fee and higher wages). Throw in the fact he’ll be nearing 30 by the time his current deal expires… I could see why Edward’s algorithims are saying it’s better to stick with him for another season and look to replace in a year’s time when it might well be the only major business we need to do then.
I think the situation that Liverpool will be totally happy with him seeing out his contract.
Besides, if we can’t get a striker over the line, he is our number nine!
I think the idea has shifted at our club, I think resale value is becoming less of an issue.
It’s evidently clear there is very little to be squeezed out of Wirtz deal but this goes back to VVD and Alisson.
Guess either Edwards has a deal lined up with Saudi for Diaz or they might be working to offer Diaz a new deal in the imminent future.
