He would be a really hard wank
Looks like this is going to happen and I hope so. Many players left Frankfurt in recent years and basically not one was a success for the next club.
Almost similar to Mo’s 18g and 13a in the PL this season. Just saying.
I thought he was a target of ours ?
I have to say I was left a little lukewarm by our links to him so if he is go to Man City fine. They can deal with losing their star winger for 1 and half months every January.
In the Bundesliga…
and Salah is like 10 years older
7, actually. The way Marmoush is being talked about so much I thought he was 21 or something like that. He’s 4 months older than Núñez, and last season, scored 12 league goals in 29 games over 2313 minutes, or 192.75 minutes per goal. 6 assists, for a total of 128.5 minutes per goal contribution. Arguably, he’s playing for a worse team than Núñez, but at the same time, he’s playing in a worse league.
In contrast, Núñez did 185.9 minutes per league goal, or 107.6 minutes per league goal contribution last season. It’s not anomalous either, with 188.7 minutes per goal and 141.5 minutes per goal contribution the season before.
I’ve not watched Marmoush so I can’t comment beyond that, but it really does demonstrate how perceptions are skewed based on whether the player plays for us or not.
I don’t know if Marmoush is having his day in the sun like Silva or Jović before him - I know exactly what @GermanRed is talking about. That said, you’d expect that Man City know what they’re doing if they are targeting a big money signing, so I always fear that such a player will take that form over to their side. They probably realised that Alvarez did need replacing and think that Marmoush would be able to play both beside Haaland and in his place.
Grealish says hello.
Yeah, no club is immune to mistakes. Or transfers that haven’t turn out to be great. I don’t know enough about Marmoush to have a strong feeling about this.
Grealish at £100m… is another one of the reasons no one should have any sympathy for Fraudiola, when he was recently complaining of the injuries his squad has, and the difficulty of putting a first eleven on the pitch - Simples, buy two good midfielders for £50m each… or even let your scouting team choose three at £33m each… If he is short on numbers and quality… shop around numpty
Thing is I think he was a decent player but I’m not sure if that develops more.
Genuinely think its Pep and not his signings thats the problem. A systems manager that takes all individuality out of his players. It does obviously work when the right players are brought in. Their trophies show that, but the burn out of players is showing.
Grealish is at the top of the list of failed signings. Think Doku and Nunes, both circa £50m, are on that list.
