Manchester City* - 130 charges (and counting...) (Part 2)

Why aren’t we hearing about the charges any more? A long time ago there was a sense in which it was all coming to a head. Guardiola was frequently asked about it, and he was visibly annoyed until he eventually started saying “They tell me it’s all clean, all good. If it isn’t, I will go …” or words to that effect.

Since then nothing. Apart from the small matter that Man City have built another team.

And the problem with building another team is two-fold. First, it is being done with over-inflated and illegitimate income streams. And second, it’s all being done off the back of the first blatant round of cheating, where a £1.5Billion injection changed their position to being a big player in the market.

My suspicion is Pep will go in the summer so he’s not tainted, but then the ‘punishment’ will be entirely unsatisfactory, if there even is a punishment. The new manager will then inherit a young, talented, expensive and large squad.

It’s happening right before our eyes and nothing is being done to stop it.

Pep has a contract until 2027 and recently said he’s happy.

Got the feeling that he surprised himself with how long he’s been there.

Next season could be his final season at City, but you never know.

My mistake, I thought it was up in 2026.

If the charges aren’t coming home to roost any time soon he has a big incentive to stay on.

what charges?

It’s a genuine national scandal that nobody wants to talk about, or rather the fear of lawsuits stops them.
I’m loathe to compare it to Hillsborough, the blood scandal or the Post Office scandal for obvious reasons but in terms of scale it is immense.
This is our national game and these fucking cheats have skewed it for the past 15 years. Millions of people invest time, money and emotion into following their teams and for what? To be cheated out of what is rightfully theirs by fucking vermin.
It’s clear there is a lot of negotiation going on behind closed doors and our government is involved which they have no right to be. The entire game has been corrupted by a fucking tin-pot club that won the lottery.

This signing takes their spending since last January to 500m and on enough players to fill an entire full team.

“and that shows we are a serious team”, quote a city fan on social media. :face_vomiting:

I have to laugh, City squad paying for the away tickets that were about £20…at a venue in the Arctic circle. That’s like paying for a round at the Bodo airport…

Is it the ticket cost or travel cost?

Talk Shite were reporting earlier it was the travel cost and talking about it being around £10K in total

Sounds like just tickets - 500 fans at 20 per would be about right.

I get that it’s supposed to be a nice gesture but there is something pretty distasteful about it. This is the fucking Champions League. Treating an opponent as so bad that you have to do this humiliation ritual after losing to them is not right.

Yeah teams do this when you’ve lost 10-1 or something. This just seems arrogant.

Indeed, and since we don’t see anything happening regarding the charges put on them (and will probably never see), we’ll have to conclude that the entire political and judiciary system is corrupt as well.

This is the cunt who got away with a blatant handball that probably cost us a title.

He’s probably pissed off that they can’t have Oliver throwing the match for them every week.

Yeah…I’m definitely laughing with extreme derision at the deluded cunt.

He’s not the best messenger for this. But they were shafted on that goal. Was a clear foul…
