I think @Iftikhar means that once the loan contract expires, his club contract will be ending too and then will be a free agent.

If so, maybe he mistook the loan ending date for his contract ending (perhaps he looked at transfermarkt)?

Yes, possible. I’ve just looked there and they don’t have the date his contract is ending with us (there’s a spot for this information but it’s unknown). Fairly certain he’s got at least another year.
