I forget if it was Salah’s goal against United or maybe Villa, but LFC put out a camera view from down the tunnel. You see the whole stand rise up and Salah go rocketing by, that video is seared in my memory. I’ll always remember that.
There are three others against City that come to my mind -
Lobbing Ederson when he came off of his line at home.
The clincher in the UCL second leg when he posed stoically, hands raised to his sides in a “are you not entertained?” gesture as he stared into a raucous away end.
The solo goal assisted by Alisson where Salah beat Cancelo to the ball before finishing the game winner. I just remember Pep seeing Salah beat Cancelo to the ball and literally collapsing to the ground because he knew Salah was going to finish it.
The crossover anklebreakers against City posted by the OP might have been most skillfull goal of them all, though as amazing as that goal was, it did come in a draw while the others came in wins.
I would also highlight:
The Chelsea screamer
The Roma bender.
His United counter in our title winning season (assisted by Alisson) where he beat Dan James, tore off his shirt, and Alisson chased him down to slide and celebrate, and
The incredible counter and game winner against Southampton. I think that was the first time he took off his shirt to celebrate.
It definitely won’t go down as his best, but there is some footage from the Anfield tunnel of a Mo counter-attacking goal.
Can’t even remember who it was against.
Everyone runs to the left, out of view, you hear the crowd roar, and then Mo runs past the field of vision with the opposition players trailing in his wake, then the crowd roars again when he scores.
Deadset gold.
My eternal gratitude to anyone who knows what I’m talking about and can find the footage. It was definitely posted on here, from several years back.
