No they wouldn’t he would get even more shit.
Yeah Trent would become a pariah at matches. Crowd would lay into him more if he’s the sole holdout of the three. I’d imagine if these rumors have any truth to them, then if Trent doesn’t sign a new contract, they’ll wait until the league is sewn up to announce Mo and Virg.
I’ve had this theory for a while that VVD signed and I have nothing to base it on. Just a gut feeling.
I think there has been a distinct lack of talk and that’s one of the reasons but others as well.
I believe this is the actual story.
No one at the club will comment until all three are signed or the season is over.
Would be somewhat surprised if the club said anything at this point, unless they were all signed and sealed it would only possibly muddy the waters given the 3 are pretty well linked.
Not to mention the downstream contracts such as Konaté and the like. It’s not just about the 3 as individuals.
They are chancers, as are almost all of these fan accounts, but my gut feeling says that this might be the case. Robbie Fowler was the first to say this publicly a few weeks back, though, so I imagine that they are just hopping on that train to gain a few more followers and some “transfer rumours” credibility.
Mo Salah has stopped conspicuously using post match interviews to put pressure on the club. There is that as well.
The cynic in me would question if the questions he is being asked are also different. I don’t recall him raising the issue himself at any point, but rather replying to the questions that were asked of him in those interviews. I seem to recall (and am quite probably wrong) that recent press conferences have also not featured many questions on contract renewals either.
No please not two cynics!
I’m neither old nor a git, does that help?
You’re not especially cynical either.
Amateur.
I do wonder if there’s a bit of looking back at last season and wondering about the impact of timing any announcements.
The whole Klopp announcement last year definitely added an initial impetus but then it did start to feel a bit like a millstone around everyone’s neck. The second the perfect ending was off the cards everything seemed to drop off.
If you’re not announcing all three at once then it looks like whoever hasn’t been announced is leaving and this becomes a good bye season. As it is everyone around the club seems to be remarkably tight lipped, even the players. Even the stories from the more trustworthy types about desires to keep them and offers being made have gone quiet.
Add in the fact Konate has made it public he’s been offered a new deal. Would they be doing that without knowing what’s going on with potentially three of the highest earners at the club?
Personally I think Virg and Mo are all sorted bar signing and announcing. Trent is probably off. They’ll hold off saying anything until closer to the end of the season or if we have a wobble they may put the news out to try and galvanise the push to the end.
Seems plausible.
I also think we would hear a lot more chatter out of the more plausible people.
All we’ve had is lazy rumours.
If you needed any more proof that gormless cunt Merson is ALWAYS wrong about everything, look no further:
Yeah they pushed them all the way into the final.
