It wasn’t meant as an insult, I just genuinely did not understand what your point was, as your post seems to jump from thought to thought without any logical, grammatical, nor syntactical sense.

It turns out, @KY_TNRed was in the wrong thread…
Mo telling the media that he wants to stay. Klopp saying they are in positive talks.
What’s the difference to the Wijnaldum situation?
Can we add a poll?
Sell Mo in the summer or let him run down his contract?
No way he leaves on a free. LFC will sell him in the summer if he doesn’t sign by then.
Wijnaldum pt2 won’t happen with a 40/yr goal scorer
either way, out of my hands so not going to stress about it. The club will do what is needs to, to survive in this market.
You can not force a player to be sold if he does not want to leave in the final year.
I understand this, but they can certainly shop him around
If they’re the only two options on the table, you sell to the highest bidder. Presumably we could ask for £150 million+, with which Klopp could probably sign two forwards and a midfielder to replace Origi and Milner also. Downgrade on Salah, but potentially upgrade those two positions (in player availability terms at the very least).
Would prefer him to sign a contract though.
Balancing books is important for the club because the club is largely self financing. But we also have a fairly large squad with a number of players that can hopefully be upgraded on, and in some cases may not need an expensive replacement coming in.
Whether Mo stays or goes this summer will depend on what offers he gets both from us and other teams, and whether the club feel they are happy to let him run down his contract if he doesn’t want to sign a new deal with us. I think it is unlikely they are looking to push him out of the door to fund incoming players. Mo may have said several times he wants to stay - but that doesn’t mean that what he wants from a deal in order to stay is something the club can or will agree to. Likewise, the club may be too risk averse to offer him the sort of deal that might be needed to keep him.
Okay. This page usually takes the piss and is unreliable as fuck. But he’s got the Edwards move right and Jota transfer before anyone so there’s some truth to him. Ignore this though if it’s wrong because it probably is but might aswell post.
Only Mo has the skill to sign a contract and reject it at the same time.
I know the cheaters of the PL world are paying ridiculous wages but if we do not want to be compared to them, then we cannot demand that just because their players are paid cheaters money, our owners should too. I think Salah should be paid a ridiculous amount of money but according to our standards not them. If Salah is offered 300k, I think that’s a fair raise for him. Of course in their world, they don’t work on common men standards but if Salah really loves us that much, 300k is surely enough to sign isn’t it. Of course if we are trying to be a cheapo and offer him a tiny raise like 10% more, then the club is just basically telling Salah, take it or leave it and I will not begrudge him leaving then cos Salah’s is definitely worth every cent of 300k.thats what i think.
I bet the club are waiting until the last day of the transfer window to announce Mo’s new contract, every fan will be disappointed we signed no one and then the announce this.
Don’t believe them Liverpool based Journos mate, apparently lies for clicks.
Schmodinger’s contract?
I think JK has been more definitive in his language when talking about the Mo situation. I can’t remember everything he said about Gini but it was generally along the lines of being hopeful rather than there being nothing to worry about, which is what he just said about Mo. Doesn’t mean he’s signing but there is a subtle difference in JK’s tone.
On your poll, Mo calls all the shots in this situation. The club are in a weak position. There’s a possible crisis brewing with Mo’s, Bobby’s and Sadio’s contract all finishing at the same time. Even if the club wanted to cash in Mo can’t be sold against his will and it would be financially a much smarter move for him to wait until his contract ends and leave on a free.
I find the “he’s asking for too much money so sell him before his contract runs down and buy a replacement” option illogical. What Salah “replacement” (could be a different type of player such as Haaland) that could help the loss not be felt so hard could we get? And if they’re anywhere near as good as Salah why would they accept less in wages and signing on fees than Salah is asking for in wages?
Because Salah is currently the best player in the world and may be asking for wages that reflect that. If we cannot match his demands while still maintaining parity in the overall club wage structure, then there are only two options. Allow him to see out his contract and thank him for many years of good service and replace him in 2023 or see if there’s interest in him this summer and try and get a fee which reflects his status as best player in the world. The fee can be reinvested back into the squad.
As for replacement, I don’t know how many more times it can be explained to you. We simply cannot replace him with a player who is as good as him because he is currently the best player in the world. What we can do is identify a younger player who the analytics team believes could come straight into the team and potentially develop into a top level player. Obviously I’m not going to name any more names because you’ll just start on about how many goals and assists they have, entirely forgetting that players can improve with training and playing alongside better players.
We don’t need 40 goals a season from 1 player, we need a team that can win more points than the others over the course of a season.
If he doesn’t extend his contract I’d no problems to see him leave on a free.
But hope we win another PL or CL title before it happens.
