Mohamed SALAH: 2021/22

I don’t think that’s what Dutch was saying.

We were shapeless without Mo.

Jamie Carragher: “Mo Salah wants to be paid as well as any top player in the Premier League or world football, and why shouldn’t he? He deserves that, we’re talking about one of the best players in the world.”

“The problem, and the angle Liverpool may be looking at it from, is where Salah would go? The Spanish giants [Real Madrid and Barcelona] are really out of the equation now given the problems they have financially.”

“Would Salah leave and ruin his legacy by going to Manchester City or Manchester United? Probably not, so that’s probably Liverpool’s bargaining chip.”

“I would love this deal to be done as quickly as possible. You cannot forget the price Liverpool signed Salah for. The money they have invested in him already - transfer fee and wages - has been a snip.”

Only thing that worries me about this Mo deal,is every time I hear Klopps response to a journalist asking the question,it sounds very similar to the replies given in the Emre Can and Gini situations,it’s all OK they love playing for LFC,they want to stay everything will work out at the end of the season and then they leave.

Ok we still have another season to sort it out but it just seems like we’ve been here before (in the immortal words of Pep) TWICE!!!

Considering the Cheaters have two first teams as a squad and we have one first eleven with youngsters and some under-par players on the bench… how come Cheaters wage bill is (only he says) £25m above ours…!
Confusing

Well how do you think…??? Could some kind of cooking…

Don’t they do something where their wages are paid through the club and the “image rights” or something are paid by the company (read owners) that own all the “City” clubs and run the “brand” and image of the group?

Ah… I was comparing the wage column only
So trying to unravel a big ball of string is a lot more complicated if one attempts to get to the bottom line of actual monies handed over to each player then…!
Okies… still only clear as mud though :0)

That how they like it…

Yes another layer of cheating. The leaked emails proved Mancini was paid half of his salary directly by the owners.

That’s why they have so many associated clubs now, more places to hide expenses.

It’s why City shouldn’t really be used as some sort of barometer for a fair wage.

“It’s why City shouldn’t really be used as some sort of barometer for a fair wage.”

I don’t think anybody uses what City REALLY pay their players, but using what City declare they pay, which is more in line with other top clubs around Europe, that’s not completely unreasonable. If a player knows he can get x here but there’s clubs like City that will pay more than x AND pay even more through another source then we are asking them to sacrifice even more money to stay here aren’t we when we refuse to match the legitimate income they can get elsewhere?

Fuck Man City.

The only thing that worries me about Mo is PSG.
Carra can rule out Madrid and Barca but to do that at this stage is silly I reckon. Barca seem to have been able to print their own money somehow and Real Madrid are Real Madrid. Of course the only Hope with them is that they spunk all their money on Mbappe contract.

In reality the only club that can offer him 500k per week and they are going to be really wanting to make a statement when Mbappe leaves for Madrid are PSG.

They could go for Haaland of course but we’ll see.

I agree with the comments of concern… on the one hand you have Mo “not asking for anything outrageous” and on the other hand you have Klopp “totally calm, totally fine” etc

Somebody is telling porkies and to be honest with you I’d expect both camps are.

It will all come out in the wash but Mo Salah has been out of this world good for us.

All things can be true at the same time though.

e.g. (exempli gratia - FOR EXAMPLE!!!)

Salah asks for £400000 a week. For the best player in the world who is knocking in 30+ goals a season - this is not asking for anything totally outrageous. It’s not like he’s asking for £1m a week.

From the club pov £400000 a week may not be outrageous but want Salah to earn that as £275000 a week and the rest in achievable bonuses in order to keep the base wage numbers lower and prevent the squad wages from escalating.

Klopp knows that Mo wants to stay and the club want to keep him, they just have to figure out where the compromise on the wages will fall, but believes they will agree a compromise so all is totally calm, totally fine.

I’m not too concerned about Mo.

His agent however is a snake and who knows what whispers he is putting into his ear.

I’m calm about it. If Mo doesn’t sign we sell him this summer for 100m plus or he leaves in 18 months on a free, gives us time to plan etc.

We should be all over Haaland and Mbappe by the way as future planning for all 3 of Salah Mane and Bobby.

Trouble is that we cannot compete with the sportswashing teams when it comes to transfer fees and wages.

We could, if John Henry sold the Red Sox … :innocent:

This has got to be offensive to some people. I approve.

And you worried Mo’s agent is a snake?

Ye but what ya supposed to do.

Tie Haaland down to 5 years and we can sell him after 3 for 850million to Crawley Town who in the mean time would have been taken over by a consortium from Kuwait

I’d be happy with that
