I’m in the “give him what he wants” camp, and always have been. I adore Mo Salah as a person and as a professional. Clearly, now, there is a line being drawn in the sand by other “supporters” to deride such a thought. Funny that. But for clarity, ‘Give him what he wants’ is always said tongue-in-cheek. It’s spoken as fan hyperbole.
I’ve been following this closely yet I am more confused than ever. There has been so much conflicting information regarding a.) what Mo currently earns and b.) what he is asking for.
In fact - NO ONE KNOWS - what he is asking for or what the club has offered. Seems a lot of emotion being thrown about when we have zero idea the numbers being discussed, from either side. I’m seeing a lot hypocrisy from supporters arguing either side of this when not one of us has been involved in those negotiations.
All of that said, I’m resigned to the fact Mo is leaving. Ugh, and I take no pleasure in saying that. Its going to sting but it’s inevitable. It’s all there, it doesn’t take a genius to see. His agent is strangling all the life out of this relationship and IMO there is no coming back.
I respect FSG and I respect Mo. Each side has their wants and desires and it’s important both stick to that. It’s how business works. It will be a sad day when Mo leaves but we keep going and our club will have a succession plan in place. I think about how gut punched I felt the day Phil left and now looking back it was one of the best/healthiest things to happen to our club.

For a while, we were only behind City. Now Chelsea recently got themselves up in that top 3 and United are also not far behind us. On Bayern, they were stunned when they heard what were Sanchez’s wage demands and other offers (when he was leaving Arsenal to go to United). They couldn’t compete at that level to sign him.
I could never support a player to the detriment of the club. Club, manager (for the most part), player. Giving a player more than we could conceptually afford harms the club. The only reason I want Mo to stay is that he helps the club, the only reason I want Mo to leave is that he helps the club, the only reason I want Mo to neither leave or go is he helps the club. Not complicated at all as long as Liverpool benefits in the short term, long term, current term.

I don’t know how to quote your post from my phone, but LFC doesn’t pay you for what you’ve done regardless of who you’ve done it for, they pay you for you are most likely going to do over the next contract for us.
Think the shift you’re talking about from guaranteed money vs bonus money is exactly the wage structure we can’t afford to have get blown up. Translational years or other moments where we may not have as much on field success the business side of LFC can help keep their largest costs down since most larger performance bonuses are team based. Hence why when we win the Quad this year we won’t actually make anymore money from the competition, we will have paid it out to our players.
I want Mo to stay but now starting to shift a bit to the wondering who the next one will be

It’s joining the others at the end of the season hopefully.

We could see if Everton fancy a joint parade. They’ll be wanting to show off their ‘got Benitez sacked’ cup, and ‘finished 17th’ shield.

Wait haven’t they got 7 we won the transfer window trophies as well?
I think we would have paid him more to go and play with his country if it meant he wouldn’t be available for us.

Surely they wouldn’t complete it, just to paint over it. Looks like someone is in the know.
