Mohamed SALAH: 2022/23

Phwoar

What he did to Martinez was priceless.

Best player on the pitch by a mile I thought. Until Gakpo scored he and Nunez hadn’t done anything but Mo was on it from the first minute.

Special performance, stood out for me. It’s been coming, his play has been much better in recent weeks.

I reserve the right to widthdraw my comments about potentially selling him… I was wrong Mo, sorry.

I have been critical but he was excellent today

The only answer they had to Mo was to foul him. It worked well for them for about an hour

Would be interesting to watch that game again with the hindsight of the result to see the shape of the right sided 3.

Loves playing against utd. :+1:

I texted my mates that about three or four years ago, I didn’t believe he’d manage to take 12 shots against Man United, let alone score 12 goals against them. Their whole plan back then revolved around them preventing the ball to get to him, them fouling him and doubling up on him. It largely worked for a while - and then it didn’t.

So… he has now one goal more than God himself. What do we do?

Should we call him Allah? Mohamed’s Allah?

Arabic commentary is always the way on instances like this.

Not too bad this season then.

Salah admitted it was a proud moment to reach the milestone. “It’s very special, I can’t lie,” the striker said. “It was always in my head since I came here. I am going home with my family to have camomile tea and celebrate.

Sell him ASAP. There will be plenty of time for that sort of hard stuff after he has retired - he’s clearly taking his eye off the ball if he’s living it large and admitting to doing that now.

The pharoah!

There’s that beautiful quote from Twin Peaks where Gordon Cole says: “That’s the kind of girl to make you wish you spoke a little French.” Well, that’s the kind of goal (and commentary) to make you wish you spoke a little Arabic!

أكثر من ذلك بكثير ، إنه
أفضل من الله نفسه!

If it was really ever needed…

But I hope the notion of selling him in the summer is knocked out of peoples heads. And the worrying over what he is earning.

He was sublime yesterday, ridiculous.

And instead of feeling any negativity about dips in form, his age, his wages, his sale value…

We should celebrate one of our best ever players. He is magnificent, the Egyptian King.
Up there for mention with the legends.

Fuck me, 2 goals and 2 assist yesterday. That is brilliant!

I’m speaking for myself here, but I think this season in particular I have judged him more harshly than he deserves. I guess in the back of my mind its because he’s just had a big bump in his contract so I expect more from him. But his season hasn’t at all been bad so far despite a slow start. 22G+11A at 2/3rds of the season is absolutely acceptable. Yes, I’d like to see him a bit cleaner with his passes, but I also would prefer him to take the risk of misplacing a pass than to just try to take on every man.
