He isn’t good. He is great.
On an evening I’ve been accused of wild takes…
Should be celebrating a hatrick today.
I’m sure he is allowed water.
I have no idea how Mo practices, but interpretations of the rules vary widely. Lots of people will say that water is fine regardless, whereas some say it is only fine in certain circumstances, such as for people who are required to be performing labor during the fast because of work. I have a friend who accepted the exception for athletes to take water when he played professionally but then when he retired and his games were now a choice he didnt feel me met that exception so abstained until sundown.
You can’t have food or water if you are fasting.
Think Mo does it the ‘right’ way. No food. No water. No cigarettes. No kissing. From sun up to sun down.
Never seen a Muslim footballer drink water during Ramadan tbh.
It’s actually allowed to pause fasting during Ramadan and then do the missed days afterwards.
Again, no disrespect.
No food or water for 10 hours. First half you squeeze every bit of energy out of your body. And actually believe the 15 minutes rest at HT don’t make it better because body and mind ‘cool down’.
Watching a game in midweek can’t remember which one but play stopped for a water break due to Ramadan.
To be honest, I’m more concerned about his miss in the first half than the penalty. Typical Liverpool, we don’t get penalties in ages and then we get two and miss them both, costing us at least three points… Not that it matters in the end.
That said, aside from his rather wayward finishing, I thought it was his best game in ages. Good hold-up, awareness of his teammates, better at passing than he usually is, great assist that could have been for Nunez… Can’t wait for this wretched season to wind down, so that the players can have a proper rest and then a proper pre-season.
I think it’s closer to 13 hours.
The Everton vs. Spurs game comes to mind. But there were similar events in Italian League too. However, those were for iftar (breaking of fast) not water breaks.
From now on Fabinho on penalty duty.
Ours against Chelsea
Should be celebrating his 400th goal in a Liverpool shirt by now.
Klopp said they would have talks, see if something is to be changed or not. Maybe we don’t change our main taker, but the way Salah works and takes them. Who knows if Fabinho will be here next season or playing regularly if he stays - your penalty taker is normally someone who is a starting XI choice.
Salah is currently on 82.7% for Liverpool and 81% in his total senior career (though I think that’s without penalty shootouts).
Number wise he’s still fine, although more closer to the bottom limit.
Like I said before, I was never a big fan of his way of taking them and hoped for a bit more improvement of preparation and technique with time. So maybe now it’s showing, with some misses or keeps getting closer to it.
No, you can have water if you’re fasting; ask your doctor. But it seems that it’s not allowed under the rules of Ramadan.
If we can recoup a fee commensurate with those stats when I’d be happy to see Mo go in the summer
Rules for Ramadan can be quite flexible according to circumstance. I suspect the issue here is more by choice
What kind of fee would that be? Who would you replace him with?
Origi on a free.
