Mohamed SALAH: 2024/25

@Limiescouse

is it true as Mo assisted Dom you were droning the following

‘balon d’or, balon d’or, balon d’or’

No idea what the stats say about his conversation rate but to me it seems as though he’s as potent as he’s ever been in front of goal, can’t recall the last time I’ve finished watching a game thinking “he could’ve had 1 or 2 more”.

The most pleasing thing for me with Mo is he’s not let his contract situation get in the way of being a top professional and leading by example.

It would be very strange come mid August and he’s not in that line up for the first game of the season, or even mid July and not seeing him as part of our training squad on tour.

Not sure, do we have activity trackers at the coffee bar?

Seems like Mona has cracked the Milanello secrets to longevity in the 90s and 00s - a good ristretto.

He has regular conversations with Chiesa about making pasta.

Do you want him to have conversations about korma too ?

At this stage , he and the club should be in the position to reject call ups for friendlies etc. I can understand him getting called up for international tournaments like AFCON and world Cup qualifiers.

But if Egypt isn’t in a position to qualify for the latter , Salah should be giving priority to opt out of those. Or conversely if they are facing a very weak opposition, opt out of those matches as well.

What an achievement, congratulations Mo.:clap:t2::clap:t2::clap:t2::clap:t2:

Does the mailman celebrate when he delivers the post?

Yes
He always rings twice

Once for an assist and the 2nd for a goal, as per norm

For home friendlies at least, I just don’t think Salah wants to reject those call-ups. He gets the opportunity to play in front of an Egyptian crowd perhaps 3-4 times a year. Salah very clearly knows he is a role model for many and values that. Also worth noting that with AFCON and World Cup qualification, African teams don’t play that many friendlies, their calendar is fairly full as it is.

We look at this sometimes too much from a purely Liverpool fan perspective and forget what playing for their country means for a vast majority of these players.

To my mind his international involvement - which he is more than entitled to - should have a bearing on what we offer him, which we are entitled to do. If we feel that participating in AFCON will diminish the player for Liverpool’s needs for the rest of the season (there’s form for that, but the question is always to what degree) then we should not be offering the sort of terms that might imply this season’s output will continue.

I hope he signs a new deal, but equally, if he does not, I look forward to seeing how Slot reshapes his attack. Nunez looks the most vulnerable for a departure, but I imagine he won’t be the only one.

This is the record I have my eye on:

He’ll be on 50+ at this rate. Almost unbreakable.

Sorry @cynicaloldgit , they didn’t keep track of assists in the days of Dixie Dean.

Well he has missed the last two breaks.

Seems there is an agreement there, perhaps if there is a major tournament or qualication is close.

Oh, Mo… How naive you are.

The Ballon d’Or is just a popularity contest these days.

Headline is misleading. Macca asks him if he’d like to win the Balon d’or and Mo replies that he’s concentrating on PL and CL. That’s literally it

Sadly so.
If he doesn’t win it, that point is certainly proven.
