What an absolute dog’s bollocks this is. The club should never have allowed themselves to be railroaded into giving him 400k a week and sitting him on a fucking golden throne in front of the Kop to gloat. As brilliant as he’s been , anyone could see his decline the last year (despite the stats) and that was only ever going to continue. So supposedly the deal was he had to play every game and when that became untenable because of the greater need of the team we end up with this , and as if we hadn’t already been forewarned about just how petulant he could be. We fucking asked for it really. So long Mo , what a really classless way to bow out.
40m plus?
Someone posted earlier I dont know who, that Slot is definitely finished now, and Mo might have a way back. I dont think thats right. The club aren’t going to let any player do this, and give reward for his public tantrum, Mo is most certainly done here. I dont however think it was intentional as in planned, I think he lost his shit, from being cooked for months by this rotten situation. They’ll both be gone by the end of the season, and I suspect VVD will not be far behind them.
We need a restart it’s too much of a mess. Hughes and Edwards obviously tried to throw some money at it and flip it quick, well it didnt even look like working.
We should have had a better plan on how to make use of what he still offered, when offering the new deal. Last season gave the blueprint for that but we’ve moved away from it, and i dont know if that change was intentional or not.
Yep a tarnished LFC exit.
Say what you like about the man, but he’s got my utmost respect.
It takes something to be so self-sacrificial, and reunite TAN amidst the ongoing footballing and geopolitical shitshow.
You talking about Salah or @The-AllMightyReds ?
Im actually struggling to understand what Mo’s end game was here. When Mo speaks he does so with purpose, to create the story he wants people to have, but I dont many directions in which this advances his case. So I’m left thinking there are really only two options.
One is that it was an emotional outburst without an end goal in mind other than getting stuff off his chest, but that isnt Mo at all. The only other option is it was a last gasp attempt to force the club to pick him over the manager, which is an unforgivable sin in my book.
I guess this is a relevant call back to highlight that the point at which Slot started trying to evolve Mo’s role in the side, and inevitable outcome, was always unlikely to go smoothly
If only we still had Darwin around to calm things down.
Well, our hand was forced by Trent leaving. Nobody in world football has that unique skill set from a RB position except possibly Kimmich, who is 30 and unavailable. So we did what we although would be a good thing by moving the creative fulcrum to the space between midfield and attack (Wirtz).
I don’t know how much thought was given to how Salah fits into that. Trent found Mo in space with his long passes with space to run into. Those situations were often created from a response to an opposing team attacking up, and therefore pushing up the pitch as a unit and as a result leaving space for Mo to motor into. When the ball is already near the attacking third, Mo is already crowded out. He doesn’t have the burst of his younger days to slalom past a packed defence so…
The club seems to be very angry…
Indykaila should be dismissed as a valid information source. This guy talks out of his arse as it comes along. Almost Trump-like…
Anyway, it’s sad to see a genuine club legend tarnishing the late phase of his career with us. Not the end of the world though. Big ego players will always struggle to accept being sidelined. It’s just that he scored a bit of an own-goal here.
When he’s gone and the dust has settled, only gratefulness will remain.
They should be.
But can we please stop treating these social media grifters’ clickbait as facts?
Apologies if this has already been posted. Just one more opinion to add to the growing number
Can we please stop linking op-ed pieces from social media fringe personalities?
Fuck IndyKaila and the rest of the click-bait Mafia.
I don’t agree with what happened, and Mo will have to answer for airing the dirty laundry. You just don’t do that.
Something bigger going on here, and I sincerely hope it’s not Mo’s ego.
Waiting for Salahs agent to speak out ![]()
Well he looks emotionally displaced in the video, is what I based that conclusion on, and also, some of things he says are partly unhinged, in the least he seems imbalanced. Especially the part about being undroppable. It could be a blur of blather from both aspects of discharging stress and some narcissism. It might be unfair to Mo but its made me reinterpret the problems Mane had with him. I hope it isnt a ruse to force the club, which shouldn’t work, but would also be much worse than the embarrassment this now brings us.
I would love to believe that Salah responded emotionally upon having a microphone pushed under his nose, not least because it would be a very easy position to row back from.
But we know that Mo Salah doesn’t talk to the media unless he has something he wants to say, snd it’s usually something he has planned.
