Mohamed SALAH: 2025/26

Why does he get a farewell? We need to put 11 players on the pitch and can’t afford to carry a player who has played as he has this season, let alone reward a senior pro for such a dummy spit. He’s toast.

Maybe we are not seeing something really obvious in the events of yesterday… that being, LFC have secured the services of a right winger already… and if he lands in the January window… then obviously MO would be looking for answers from Slot re his ongoing playing time..

Good post buddy. I haven’t watched the interview but I will pull back on my disappointment for now as you are right.

Hopefully Arne holds firm and either Mo decides to get his head back in gear and be humble enough to fight for his place/stay on the bench and support the team or he goes.

Whatever someone thinks of Slot, I don’t know how this from Mo last night turns into a criticism of Slot.

We then go into a level of it’s not good when Mo plays all the time, it’s not good when he plays minimal or doesn’t play at all. Specifically last night, yes, I thought he would come on.

Do I think every player needs to be explained pre/post match why he didn’t play? No. And Mo isn’t an exception to that. If he wants to know more often, he knows where the office is. All the rest of course, there should be a minimal amount of communication (and we only heard one side of the story last night).

But the stuff Mo came out with last night isn’t normal behaviour, regardless of characters involved, what are their statuses and what the public thinks of them.

Some things are non-negotiable.

We’ve come to realize that when Mo isn’t getting what he wants, some of the tactics are as following: suddenly stopping in mix zones (he knows it’s the easiest way as they’re always ready, but usually don’t get what he gave them and the whole public last night), removing Liverpool related stuff from his online profiles, his agent throwing some stuff through Twitter, crying like he did last night.

We have enough problems on the pitch this season, due to many different reasons, but no, monsieur has decided he wants to spice it more in the public. For him, it’s whatever, because he’s off to Africa soon and the rest of the team needs to manage with the added mess.

Thanks, mate.

What a pile of crap.

He’s been left out for 2.5 games, FFS

Melissa Reddy is evidently being paid by Mo. Blind freddy (and I) can see that he’s definitely been part of the problem.

The fucking entitlement. Not playing cos you’ve been shite - adding nothing offensively and just not working off the ball. If he doesn’t see that then sadly he has to go.

Now we are getting into wet dream territory…

Forgot to add, when you look closely at his rant last night, it’s not only aimed at Slot, but the club and the public also.

Whoever said it above…sorry, can’t remember…

If you want the plaudits implied by images such as the one below, you need to deliver. The end. It really is that simple.

I can’t believe I’m agreeing with fucking Henry Winter…Mo deserves special treatment when working with the club on what he wants/needs.

He does not deserve to be an automatic start and he is not entitled to behave like this.

Yet the only one where what our performance was missing was goals and attacking threat he was brought on.

What I’m finding so odd about this whole situation is how disproportionate its been. Its been a week. 3 Games, one of which he came on at half time. Until he did this there had probably been as much said over the season about how immune to bad performances he seemed to be with Slot (which acknowledges there have been a collection of bad performances) than his lack of involvement in these games.

That’s what I find weird as well. It’s just been one week, which makes me wonder if we’ve had offers from Saudi Arabia and Turkey, and rather than the club rejecting them, like we supposedly did with £150m from the Saudi Pro League a few seasons ago, this time, the club have gone to Salah and asked him if he’d like to consider them. Factor in being benched for the last 3 games, and it’s all gone nuclear.

When you sit back and think of all the decisions you’ve made in your life, all the trials and jubilations, the mistakes and successes… if you’d know this day was to come where would you pinpoint that it all went wrong?

When he created a redcafe account to laugh and troll at united .

When Mo speaks he does so deliberately and for a purpose, which is pretty much always advancing his Pro-Mo agenda. Mo has got a message he doesnt want to hear and has decided to go nuclear. There isnt much more to it than that. He is not only not concerned about the negative fall out, he is specifically trying to create it with these comments.

None of the criticisms of Slot absolve Mo of the criticism he is justifiably getting, but there is very clearly an angle that reflects poorly on Slot. The very obvious argument that no one gets to complain about being dropped when results are bad are your performances are worse dont land quite so cleanly when Cody continues to play every game. The Ibou situation is a bit less clear, but does give ammunition to a player feeling singled out when they are the one who is made to give way

Yeah I hadnt considered it until the comment on here, but the implication of him being sat for these games would be a LOT bigger if there were Jan transfer window moves coming into place already

One of Arne’s recent talks with the press included discussion of Dom’s role in the side and Arne said that he was expecting Dom to be back focusing on his midfeld role by i think mid january.

I understand the point, but I think there is a difference between playing shit, and playing shit and having to be carried to do so.

It isn’t long ago that Salah was talking about how great it was that he and Slot had worked out a plan that meant he didn’t have to defend because he got the numbers at the other end of the pitch. Well that’s great as long as he is delivering.

There is also a practical point that Mo is a week away from disappearing for the best part of six weeks. How on earth can he be disappointed that whatever recovery plan Slot is trying to effect doesn’t include him?

For those asking what I mean by saying we should not take Mo’s words so literally, this by Reddy points to exactly what I mean

There clearly have been conversations, but Mo simply wont accept the answer to why. In reality for someone like Mo there is likely no answer that could be given to him that he will accept. His words most likely reflect his unbelieving reaction to that rather than the literal reality of Slot refusing to talk to him as some have taken those comments about “no explanation” and “no relationship” to mean.

An important consideration is how well did Slot handle this and we’ll never know (but we probably do know). One of the things that most of the greats did well was find a way to exclude players who thought they were important in ways that still make them feel important and I think most of us would put our money on that not being one of Slot’s strong points.

Side bar though, I dont wonder how Chiesa is reacting to all of this

I havent read the interview but i would think that some of this at least is because he feels he has been set up to fail?

I have seen a few people raise comments from Virgil that are presented as if he is taking Mo’s side in this, but it’s bullshit. Virgil’s comments about needing Mo still here were made in midweek when he was asked about Mo being left out against Sunderland. What he also said in those comments was

That’s always been the case. It’s not like you have unlimited credit, everyone has to perform

The lack of comment from anyone in response to this is pretty telling and I think, maybe, a positive as this was a proper mutiny the other players would not be holding their tongues. But the first comments now are going to be fascinating.

Have any other players been sat on the bench for more than 3 games…Mo hasn’t been playing well…we don’t know why…but no one else has spouted off…or thrown a wobbly…(they may well have done in private) but nothing as vociferous as Mo…something has flicked his switch from team player to loud mouth…and has ultimately brought LFC to a place we don’t want to be…plastered all over the papers, sports tv news, everywhere…WE DON’T DO IT THAT WAY…
