He did a job around the squad.
Problem is, I don’t think Mo wants to do a job. He wants the team building around him.

Yeah its delulu
I think some of this quoting is a little pedantic. English isn’t his first language so some of his responses may be being misconstrued because of that.
He is referring to when he was in training the day before. Why should what he said here stop him from coming to the match?
At the rant, I meant.
And yeah, of course the language plays a part.
I think that is somewhat unfair.
Mo will undoubtedly have been given some assurances in the summer around his role and what the club where doing.
He will have a view as to how he contributes best to the team - to him that is clearly through scoring goals, it always has been. Last season, and perhaps before, he has seen a reduction in the need for him to defend to allow him to get those goals. The team had adjusted to that. So I think it fair to say that the club have agreed with him on that.
However, we’ve now sold our one ‘pressing’ forward and brought in an unfit player who can press a little but probably only when fully fit, and two attackers from Germany who have needed to come to terms with the physicality of the league, at least one of whom rarely plays for 90 minutes.
Our midfield is neither shielding the defence or progressing the ball effectively, and pretty much the same can be said for our defence.
If he was always going to react like this after a few games being dropped, then that’s a serious question whether to continue together until his age of 35 was worth it.
He is great, he is special, it’s alright if he requires a specific approach, but this is football and starting XI’s are not decided in offices for years in advance, regardless of circumstances that might occur.
Stevie’s always seemed quite pally with him. Wonder if he will as well.
I dont blame him. I was always the best player in my teams and it was frustrating being better than anyone else ![]()
It’s not always that direct correlation though is it when it comes to creating goals. Mo would get the pass from Trent in space and he would proceed to create big problems for the opposition team leading to assists and goals. Either directly or Mo creating a situation which led to a goal. Direct goals and assists won’t always show that.
Boom.
Perfectly summed up.
He has every right to be pissed off…but bang on Arne’s door and put him in a headlock ffs.
He did the absolute worst thing he could, the exact opposite of what he should have done.
I bet Arne comes out of that headlock with his baldy, perfectly round head. No grip.

Totally. Feel like this is getting lost. Also the fact that he has a different RB behind him every game, sometimes 3 different ones in the same match!
I think what’s in front of him has been more of a problem than who is behind him. Whoever is at RB hasn’t caused Mo to fail to beat the defender or to smash the ball at the defender when there is a better-placed teammate, very often Wirtz.
All these things about changing tactics and team mates etc don’t account for just how poor he has been personally in his own ability. Constant loose touches, 25% dribble success rate and 2nd in the league for most possession lost is atrocious especially for a world class player. He is making below average left backs look world class from how bad his basic skills have been. You can’t blame those around him for his lack of basic footballing ability. Then you look at his defensive stats and it makes for even worse reading. Getting paid 400k a week and can’t even do the basics of football atm and he has the nerve to say what he said. What a fucking joke.
I dont know where you are going with this, but no contract was ever signed. The principal reason he left was that the financial restrictions they were forced to operate under made it really uncertain if they were going to be able to reregister him, even on a contract that gave the club such a big discount.
I suspect this is what he was referencing with the comment about promises not kept. I’d imagine the pitch he received in the spring came with ideas about the team was going to evolve for next season, but how Mo’s role was still central to that. And now that hasnt worked and they are having to try a series of different things to fix the problems that have been introduced into the team he’s seeing that as a broken promise.
Superficially that may seem more defensible than complaining about an expectation of not ever being dropped, but its still an appallingly self-centered perspective for what options are available to a struggling team.
Can you sort your shit out so I can go back in midfield?
