I thought it sounded blunt but I’m always worried about crossing into the “PC” world where people can’t say anything either.
Salah’s performances have been bad… I don’t think anyone is trying to insult him but call him out on some bad (shit) performances. Don’t see too much wrong wwith that tbh. Call it what it is, but perhaps be a bit nicer about it.
The whole PC thing is another conversation entirely because there’s a whole heap of stuff that people should never be saying about a fellow human being.
In this case, I’m saying it’s wrong to describe any Liverpool player’s performances as “shit”, because they play for this club, they wear the red and it’s up to us to support them through thick and thin.
I’m sure none of us does our jobs really well 100% of the time, because we’re not machines, so I agree with you, let’s leave the “shitty” comments to all of those so-called supporters of lesser clubs and just appreciate what we have, especially a player who has done what Mo Salah has consistently done over several seasons.
In response to my post, I have no issue in saying a player has been ‘shit’ in isolation but banging on with it is showing disrespect especially as it is Mo.
Also, I have been a critic of Mo’s performances but I am still respectful of him and what a player he has been for Liverpool and hopefully will continue to be.
All these Anfield accounts are poisonous and they all exist to serve the same shitty purpose. Could you imagine if the likes of Kenny, Rushie, Souey etc were all on social media and saw attention seeking “content” like that?
It is mightily exaggerated from that account. You get all kind of these fan accounts making themselves more important than they are. Blue tick, sources, propaganda, what have you. I choose not to follow them, for me it’s more calmer and clearer that way. In a way I’m happy that someone like Mo responded, in another I prefer him not to engage with that world.
In fairness I so glad that we have said goodbye to Darwin. He just wasn’t right for our club anymore. That we have Isak and Ekitike instead is just amazeballs.
Anfield Edition was muted on my timeline a while ago after I saw them reposting several rumors which referenced false sources. There’s nothing valuable about these fan aggregators, but they’re one of the worst.
I don’t think that’s the point Mo was making though? We have new players, probably or potentially the greatest signings we could have made. But they have to win something. Darwin left with a PL medal. He’s entitled to some respect, despite his shortcomings as a Liverpool striker.
That one of our greatest ever players responded to such ignorance is a mark of the man.
Well done Mo Salah. Proven on and off the pitch.
Not saying it was Mo’s point. Still stick by my point - we’ve had players like Traore win CLs, doesn’t make them amazing players. I’m not disrespecting Darwin by being pleased (after 3 years) to see the club upgrade. TBH, I’m thinking next summer will be the time to bring in another player who will offer more than (2026) Mo. Doesn’t mean he hasn’t been a fine player (,clearly much more than a fine player in Mo’s case) but also doesn’t make it disrespectful to note (once he has moved on) that we are excited by his replacement.
In fairness, it’s a rarer sight than seeing him score. I’d like to see how he enters a lift without his team around him - they may have been making him look good.
Henry was wonderful but had an underwhelming CL career playing his best years for an Arsenal side that just never got to grips with the competition so this doesnt surprise me.
