Mohamed SALAH: 2025/26

51 goals in 115 games isn’t terrible, not everyone can be Salah.

I’d be curious to see the comparison in terms of assists as well. I’m sure that Mo beats Thierry Henry hands down as well on that record.

Thierry Henry recorded 16 assists in the Champions League throughout his career, contributing to his 50 goals in the competition.

Salah has also provided 17 assists for Liverpool in the Champions League—another club record. And let’s not forget, the Egyptian is the highest-scoring African player in the history of Europe’s most prestigious competition.

Call that 18 if last nights goal by Robbo could be called an assist :0)

True, but Salah got level with Henry in the PL in January 2025 (175 goals). Since then, he has added 13 goals to his tally. And his current assist record is 88, vs. Henry’s 74.

Henry was a magnificent player, but Salah beats him on all records.

Henry was one insane talent and backed up his talent with performances as well. The same can be said for Mo.

If you ask me which player I think is better. I’d say Henry. No disrespect to Mo.

No one asked you! (Joking…)

But if they did.
And if you answered Henry…
You would be 100% wrong.

Again. That would be modesty. Some people often tend to well… play down their accomplishments and Henry clearly is one among them. There are so many examples in sports.

But then , you clearly fail to read between the lines etc… So…

Right…

And again. Lack of awareness and self awareness.

There does exist something called depreciation.

Note to self…
Stop discussing football with someone who hasn’t a fucking clue about football…

Taking a correlation from another sport.

Viv Richards says that Sachin is a better batsman than him. Does it necessarily become true ?

No one asked you to reply to any convo of mine. You just argued yourself down the path that you can’t come back from.

So go do what you do best.

Last word
Hopefully you get this…

Salah > Henry

Your argument is weak.

Salahs numbers and consistency obviously point to him having a greater arguement.

i can see however, where Henrys style would garner him some votes.

i love Mo, but for the nuetral i can see where Henry woud be more fun to watch.

to put it in context, to me the best footballer ive seen in the modern era is Ronaldinho at his peak…his numbers can’t touch Messi or Ronaldo…but he was just such an amazing footballer who was a joy to behold…

Henry > Salah and it’s not even that difficult if you ask me. Just a more rounded player overall. Some of the goals and assists stuff he produced in early 00’s context is absolutely ridiculous.

Mo has his own different glories for sure, he’s a very strong candidate, if not the outstanding one on the right side of a PL best XI.

Is it? Henry is undoubtedly one of the most talented and the most effective players I’ve seen in my life and one that I genuinely thought was the best ever in PL after Stevie (and I’m not even sure if I’m biased but that’s for another discussion). Fast forward seven years and Salah has trumped Henry in virtually every aspect of football, and not because he’s played in a dominant side. The fact that we’re comparing a forward playing on the wing to a centre forward speaks volumes, not to mention Salah being a key member of a CL-winning side, something that Henry failed at while he was at Arsenal. So, it’s not as clear-cut as you would have us believe.

Give it a rest, now, or take it to PMs and let others move forward with the discussion.

Well worth a read.

Very interesting indeed.

And hits the nail on the head

Yeah it is, at least for me. I’m not saying that Salah is miles behind, that the difference is big, but the decision between the two isn’t difficult for me. It’s likely gonna take “something” else to remove Henry from the top.
