Mohamed SALAH: 2025/26

@Bekloppt I blame Apples iOS26

When in doubt, blame Apple.

I hope Mo’s having a lovely evening in with his family.

Thought he was pretty invisible in today’s game.

Should’ve got booked for that terrible dive, turning it into a terrible hand ball attempt.

You mean the one in Chiesa’s goal when he was jumping for the ball while the defender was pulling his shirt?

Of all the things to criticise, that would be the last on the list.

Will not, can not, shall not be taken off.

Our irresistible, undroppable Mo Salah.

But maybe not unsellable come January

Henry is probably the best player to have played in the Premier League Era. His numbers are as good (if not a bit better) than Salah’s despite playing in a much more defensive team and taking fewer penalties.

Unbelievable player. Don’t listen to the Irish!

Cheating Frog!

Good player though!

Edit
Henry < Salah

A couple of things

  1. I think Salah’s numbers are better at this point, aren’t they?

  2. The Arsenal side that Henry played in was probably the most attacking in the league at that point. They had a strong defence, but they played with incredible attacking verve.

On your first point: yes, they are better, and on all records. I put this together a while ago. Agree also on the second point. That Arsenal side was a joy to watch, I remember it very well. Henry was obviously a part of that, but if you look at the stats, Mo is now better than Henry: more goals, more assists, and a better goal- and assist-per-game ratio. At this point, he has scored more non-penalty goals than Henry btw.

I can’t understand why Mo is allowed to keep playing and stinking the place up. It’s crazy that he was given 90 again against Chelsea, it’s like we were playing with 10.5 players.

0 duels won, 0 successful dribbles, 0 shots on target.

Really should’ve hit the target in one or two of those shots he had.

That suggests only Salah stunk the place out which is waaayyyy off the mark.

Is that implying Isak did…anything? Because he’s been a total passenger in basically every appearance.

Salah is playing because the other options we have are poor. We dropped him against Galatasary for Frimpong ffs.

Crap. We could play Chiesa or go with two up top. Mo doesn’t deserve to start, let alone play 90 minutes.

And Isak had an assist and was way more effective than Mo. Sadly I think Mo is done and we can’t afford to carry him when we have several other misfiring parts: Alexis was awful until the last 15 minutes (then subbed!) and was at fault for letting Caicedo have so much space and he misplaced simple passes, went backwards and for in the way more than anything. Awful performance except just before being subbed.

The thing is he’s stunk the place out repeatedly and we’ve been carrying him for far too long. Unfortunately we can’t afford to do this, especially when we are also carrying Alexis.

I’d like to see a 4-3-1-2 after the break with Isak and Ekitike up topz Wirtz behind and Grav, Jones and Dom in midfield.

Salah would have had an assist too if Isak didn’t miss a free header.

Chiesa isn’t fit enough to play regular football and has been a disappointment overall since signing. I know he’s a cult hero and has had some good moments recently, but I still think it’s a bit early to have him replacing Salah. Regardless, he could quite easily start in place of Gakpo who has been awful.

Ekitike wasn’t fit enough to start either.

Mo was rank apart from that cross and if missing that chance by Isak is bad then Mo’s miss from.Wirtz was criminal plus I recall at least two more awful shots by him. You are deluded if you think Mo played better than Alex or Cody.

Mo hasn’t really been firing on all cylinders since February/March. I thought his drop of towards the end of the season depended on him fasting/us having already wrapped up the title. Unfortunately he’s continued his poor form this season.
Sure he has shown glimpses of his brilliance but overall he’s been underwhelming.

I don’t know if this is due to him being out of form, to tactical changes or that he misses TAA is being debated. Probably all of the above to certain degree. I for one think he is playing too wide and often gets isolated and have to turn back with the ball, it happened a couple of times yesterday as well. M
