Mohamed SALAH: 2025/26

Apparently, it is so…

So it’s farewell to one of our greatest ever players. Certainly our greatest ever winger. It was incredible that a winger could score so many goals as well as the huge number of assists.

As much as I appreciate what he has done for the club, it’s a great pity that he tarnished his legacy with his temper tantrum after the Leeds match.

I don’t really understand why he is making this announcement now, apart from making his
remaining games all about him and his legacy.

Anyway, I’m sure we will all be eternally grateful to Mo for his oincredible contribution to our club.

True, and that’s above a list including Cally, Heighway and Barnes.

Give us something to focus on other than the general shit show that this season has been. Similar to Gerrard announcing early that he was leaving during Brendan’s last full season.

End the season with a couple of wins and Salah goals and suddenly at least we gave him an ok send off.

Legend.

It’s all about him for hopefully 67 more days if his final game is in Budapest on May 30.

And he’s got the last laugh regardless of how he’s treated now.

I think the club did right by him.

Allowing him to leave on a free allows him to maximize his earning with a huge signing bonus apart from the salary per week.

Liverpool gets his wages out of the payroll and that helps in staying within the rules w.r.t FFP. Especially as we don’t look to be making the CL.

I’d love it if we turn up more games than not and ensure CL qualification though.

Hopefully, this galvanises the lads to get UCL next season by hook or by crook.

Really gutted Mo is leaving. I would have loved for him to retire at Liverpool.

He has absolutely been a great stalwart for us. Whenever, we were desperate for a goal, Mo rescued us so many times.
He is an absolute legend for us. He defined the Klopp era, with Manevand Firmino. One of the greatest Liverpool players in my lifetime.

Thank you ever so much Mo for all you have done for Liverpool FC. You were a joy to watch. Thank you for the wonderful memories.
Also, his charity work off the pitch helped so many disadvantaged people and I would go as far, in that he helped improved race relations in terms of his muslim faith, he is a great cultural role model for many kids around the world.

I do wonder what prompted this. Has he realised that he isn’t the force that he used to be, or does he see things behind the scenes that are not to his liking?

Club is/will be going through a rebuild but unfortunately, they got it wrong this season. I’m hoping for some new faces (at management and player levels) to get us back on track next season.

Community Shield (2022)

Yeah, you are right. 2 with LFC and 1 with CFC.

I am gutted he is leaving, as he still has those moments, albeit less than before. One of our best ever.
Delighted the club have honoured him, no tawdry transfer hagglings for a club legend.

By the way
We are not clearing £400,000 a week off our wage bill. We are losing a legend.

I don’t know if it’s true, but I am certain that the mancs breathed a sigh of relief.

I wonder how much we will lose in marketing revenue given that he no doubt sold a lot of shirts in the far and middle east. According to the BBC this morning it is common there for fans to support a player rather than a team. ??

Only Messi has sold more shirts…

I assume that shirt forgeries are huge business too judging by the number of beach hawkers I saw selling them in the Canaries recently…

I was trying to find shirt sales for this year. Wirtz was the top selling one followed by Jota (which the club is not profiting from). I think Salah was next, I couldn’t find a full breakdown.

Gutted to see him go, the best winger ever in premier league and top5 greatest ever. A professional to his core and a wonderful person.

Have been watching his highlights this morning and I am not sure when will we ever witness similar greatness in a liverpool shirt. There’s not enough words to describe some of the goals he scored for us, what a player.

Thank you Mo for everything, wish you all the best for your future.
