Mohamed SALAH: 2025/26

Even Mo’s ex team mates have liked his posts, Bobby and Gini

People can mock the importance of SM engagement, but it’s how these players communicate now. If this was Mo just doing Mo brand management the rest of the players wouldn’t be publicly endorsing the comments

Guess who is training alone at Kirkby while the Head Coach and the rest of the squad is off at Monaco?

You think that Salah is going to convince a prospective employer to hand him a lavish new contract with a SM post when there’s a season’s worth of material at hand? Anyone with even a passing interest in football could tell you that Salah is a workaholic and the utmost professional, he doesn’t need to post about his standards.

This is Salah doing something, this is him displaying leadership, this is him caring for the club. Meekly standing aside like Robertson or offering platitudes and clichés like Van Dijk, while everything that made the team successful is thrown away, does no good.

Mo Salah has shown through his career that he cares about the club, but he also cares about Mo Salah. It’s transparently obvious to me that a lot of his behaviour is driven by a desire to distance himself from the performances.

He hasn’t, as far as I can see offered any reflection on his own performances. The one on ones inexplicably fluffed. The number of times he has insipidly just full into his full back and lost the ball. He was never a player who was going to accept the dying of the light, but he doesn’t seem to consider that his own performances has been way off what we’d expect them to be.

Let’s not forget that his original dispute with Slot was because Slot had the temerity to drop him, when dropping him was absolutely 100% justified.

I will miss him terribly on the pitch, but to be honest the ego and the self centredness won’t be missed.

Not quite. That is certainly when he went public but his argument or justification for doing so was that he was being scapegoated. I think its fair to say whether or not he is in the side, the team seem to display the same problems.

I remember him stinking the place out, getting dropped, going ballistic, but we we did well in the games he was out?

I think the underlying message MO wants out there, is an explanation as to why MO is going out on a whimper…
To me, once Slot altered tactics for the emerging Slotball fantasy, these change of tactics came at the expense of MO being utilised in a manner best suited to MO… As frustration began to erode his goal scoring figures, and his self belief trait was obviously impacted, MO’s form went to shit.

The true damage Slot has done/is doing to this club over this season, will make for horrific reading at some future juncture.

Against the relegation fodder, where we still failed to beat Leeds (twice) and Burnley?

Does that not perhaps suggest that Mo’s comments were from a legitimate concern as we still came away without any noticeable improvement to our attacking or defensive play, despite playing weaker opponents?

And, was this also the period in which we let Aaron Briggs go and immediately saw an improvement in our set pieces both defensively and offensively?

And was Cody also dropped for a number of these games too?

Didn’t we batter a couple of teams in Europe in that period too?

according to TranferMarkt he missed the Inter game which we won 1 nil

Yep, Slot must be terribly disappointed in his favourite son.

I know people want to crap on Gakpo but leave off he’s done no worse than half the squad. Did say “I’ll fall over and claim a foul” Macallister like it or has he enjoyed his weekly holidays?

What about the other non English players who get plenty of frees?

4/10 most fouled players are from the UK. 3 from England.

Don’t think there is a conspiracy, we have incompetent refs but I don’t think nationality is coming into split second decisions.

I actually feel sorry for him and Macca, both playing below their le els but Arne, won’t, for whatever reason rotate them out.

This is Tony Cascarino’s view on the current situation. He is usually very balanced in his views and he even agrees with Mo and says that Mo is not doing it for his ego.
