Moises Caicedo (DM/CM/RB) Brighton and Hove Albion

That would be risking 100m, no? That does not make sense from any angle. It can happen, but I would question their sanity.

You should be truthful and admit you’re a secret chelsea fan on here.

If he had a year or two left of his deal, then it might be a risk that he plays “silly buggers” or runs down his contract and leaves on a free. He’s only just signed a five year deal, so Brighton hold all the cards. “Hey Moises, do you still want to be here when you’re 26? No? Then a bit of cooperation wouldn’t go amiss.”

Haha, well, I’m not.

That’s what you get for being realistic I guess.

They won’t be holding onto him as doing that is a risk everytime they play him. They bought him a couple of years ago for 5mp,they’d be stupid not to take 100+mp for him now even if it is from chelsea.

Be careful, they could come out and accuse you for being a secret Chelsea fan.

I.m here long enough to know how to put them on ignore

Nah. @RedSeven has been here for years; his allegiance is beyond question. Yours, on the other hand, has yet to be established.

It’s worth noting that fans of other teams who are honest about who they support are more than welcome here, as long as they don’t behave badly, whereas fans of other teams who pretend to be Reds are soon sussed.

Actually, starting to remember why I took a 3-year break from here. :joy:

Hasn’t this already happened before only for him to sign a new contract at Brighton?

It probably means more to Brighton in the long run to show if you want to buy their prospects, you’re paying the asking price and that’s it. It does nothing for them to show their players can be tapped up, and force their way out for less than Brighton value them. Do they need 100mil right now? Is he going to be worth 0 in January or next summer?

Chelsea were obviously thinking they can disrupt the player and leave the signing until the end of the window hoping Brighton buckle to a lower asking price.

They’re basically doing what we did regarding Coutinho.

It’s not just about this transfer it’s about all future dealings too, they won’t be bullied.

From here or TIA?

Or not, in this case.

We’ve met their asking price already, but they appear to be reneging on the deal. That does not portray them in a positive way, and other teams would do well to remember that in future dealings with them.

Maybe i’m being pedantic but wouldn’t that mean you’ve never being on here as a poster before?

But they’ve not accepted a lower valuation from Chelsea…

Our stumbling block isn’t Brighton it’s Caicedo. Brighton can’t force him to agree personal terms with us. But they can turn down an approach from anybody else for less than our bid.

Day 100 of telling people that Jude Bellingham did not want to play for Liverpool.

True. But they can tell him that only one club have met their valuation, so he either negotiates with that club or he stays put.

I was on TIA, and haven’t registered here until now.

Yes, exactly. That’s exactly where it’s at right now…

Happy to hear you haven’t closed the door on me.

i think we should just walk away from this deal and let Chelsea have him at the huge price

there are to many red flags for me,

flirts with Arsenal, then Chelsea and Man utd apparenlty
(does he know what he wants? or where he wants to be)

signs a new 5 year deal in March(?) knowing that there is a big chance he could be on the move in the summer,

then there is his agent(s) who give me the impression that they are in it for themselves and offering bad advice

whats not to say that in 2 years time his agents will act the same if he does sign for us
