If I have to ever listen to Jim fucking Beglin again, I’ll be very upset!

Carragher has forced his way to the top of the list.

You get used to him and he just becomes a noise in the background

Carragher is like the annoying squeak you have on your car when on a long journey.

I have to take your word on that and can imagine it, as I don’t recall him on commentary in NZ, we nearly always get Beglin, who just kept going on about how well they were defending blah blah blah, does my head in,

The idea of the game, last I heard, is to outscore your opposition

Carragher was spouting same shite then came out with a pearl saying they were causing us issues on the break.

Yep load of shite they only broke twice and nothing came of either.

From the Essentail Everton post earlier… I never listen to Sky so can’t confirm it myself… but if it is true and others here heard him utter the phrase.. then yes, the author has made a good point for having Carragher removed from TV screens

Jamie Carragher on Sky Super Sunday, once again during commentary, called a player “brain dead”. This is the latest in a long list of times he has used this awful phrase. I’m not one for over reacting, but I really feel strongly over this dreadful choice of words. In a world full of severe brain related football injures and life changing illnesses, this, to me, should surely be unacceptable. If the likes of Andy Gray got sacked for saying “I wouldn’t touch her with yours” then this is far more serious statement. He needs removing from our screens.

There are plenty of reasons why I’d like Carragher removed from our screens but this isn’t one of them. A quiet word maybe to point out the expression isn’t really apt. “I’m not one for over-reacting” said the Evertonian. No, of course you’re not.

I am not a spring chicken but I probably would use that phrase as it is something from my youth and up bringing, there is no ill intent just means they aren’t the sharpest tool in the box or one of many other phrases that people use.

For me and I might be in the minority but it is getting offended for offended sake, yes I might be an old dinosaur, but it is what I am.

If truth be told I’m not really getting that.

And Keys and Gray were on it all the time, it wasn’t just one incident.

He’s made a valid point that a phrase which is commonly used to describe someone who has switched off mentally, probably shouldn’t be used in this context. That should really apply to all commentators, but hardly a sacking offence.

Maybe they could use the Glaswegian phrase “numpty” which has the same meaning but without the baggage?

Speaking as a registered Numpty, I find it offensive and triggering when it’s used in a sports broadcast context.

Numpty is such a great word, especially when preceded by “yer gurt big”
