I have warmed to him during the world cup, I think him sitting next to Rooney helps. Who quite frankly is just the worst pundit imaginable. Probably also the lack of City discussion helps. Probably end up being a bit like Ian Wright who was immensly annoying when he first became a pundit but is now mellow and more thoughtful in what he says.
