Naby KEITA: 2020/21

So he is back in training, man I really hope the extended time out will at least give him a proper run of games.

He would really change the dynamics of how we play in midfield, he is very direct and could be the spark we need together with Jota.

Just in time for Guinea to crock him in March is my rather cynical take. I am not quite as keen to write him off as others but weā€™ve basically been getting him fit for when they need him with not much usage in between.

Just the thing I was going to write when I saw your post.

Am I right in thinking Naby wasnā€™t particularly injury prone before he came to us ?

So Naby is back in training. How long before we hear the news that heā€™s picked up an injury in training? Another ā€˜muscle issueā€™.

He usually gets on the bench or plays and then itā€™s another 2-3 months, sadly this just gives me more hope on Jota as he was supposed to be just behind him on the schedule to return.

Sounds like the extra time out was the club trying to be super careful with his recovery.

If that doesnā€™t work then Iā€™m out of ideas, but we need something different in the middle of the park and he gives us that.

He would make a difference in our current slump, however I would want Jota back and flying before Naby.

I think Klopp got fed up and opted for him to have almost like a mini pre season now. Even if it means not having him available for a few games, because heā€™s fit on paper. For us to see him gel at month or two of being fit, going into next summer and the 2021 year, to help us make the decision what to do next. I expect him to be here next season as things stand. But weā€™re trying to do bo the best we can from our part to make him available for longer periods. He played in some of our best performances not only this but last season as well. Thatā€™s the thing with Keita now also. If heā€™s not the world beater he was going to be when we signed him, it doesnā€™t mean he didnā€™t have a lot of good games and periods. Fans quickly get frustrated by this and youā€™re either a darling or completely written off.

Letā€™s hope he stays fit and keeps getting sharpness until Sheffield game.

Have Keita and Thiago been on the pitch together already?

If we can unleash a midfield trio of Thiago Fab Keita with Hendo marshalling the back line against Sheffield we might put 6 past them.

Klopp said he was a bit ill two days before Leipzig.

He did slow the game down when several ran forward at 2-0, was very composed.

Hopefully he can stay fit from now until the end of the season.

So refreshing to see the drop of the shoulder and attacking the space in front of him and trying to release Mane.

If he is working in that left channel, I think Mane will get a lot of joy running on to his passes.

Hopefully he can stay fit.

He is already better than Ox.

I have no expectations for this guy. And its probably for his good. For the rest of the season, its better that we do not play him up everytime he gets 15 minutes in. I think it might be good for him to go under the radar, play the odd game here and there, build up his fitness, give him space to build up that confidence instead of getting into the spotlight of discussion everytime he returns. Hopefully that will help him along the way and we can look forward to a new Keita next season.
