He is some player when he gets it going. He looked razor sharp tonight. If only he could stay fit.
Yeah, thought he was great. That second half was woeful until Firmino and Keita came on, Naby in particular. Took up dangerous positions and kept driving at the Newcastle defence, committing players and opening up spaces. Really good showing.
Yehā¦ā¦.for now.
In the spirit of the season:
Feliz, Naby ladā¦
A rich manās Fabio Aurelio⦠Out for weeks or months, gets into the side like he hasnāt missed a minute, plays so you wonder how the hell did Liverpool get him ahead of other clubs and then he gets injured and misses a few more weeks or months⦠With Sturridge, you could see how all those injuries physically and mentally affected him, they made him lose strength and especially pace - it doesnāt seem to be the case with Keita, at least not just yet, which makes me feel even more sorry for him and for the club. This midfield would be unplayable if he was consistently fit.
Great to see him back and Bobby and Jones and Gomez
Iām more optimistic with Naby this season. Having seen Ox and Matip having a good run without fitness issues, I feel Naby can do the same.
Iāve seen Thiago & Keita as our two #8ās and Bobby in front of them all combining for a little spell.
I can die a happy man.
you can add me to that. tough to see Hendo out of the squad though as heāll be the sacrificial lamb
Fab is #2 on my list of most important players just ahead of Virg and behind Mo though. heās nailed on every week in my book. Iād almost say heās as important as Busquets was to Barca during their prime days when that team was unplayable.
What about Naby Cooooooooool
hell of a second half by Naby. Stay healthy son, and youāll have a long career at Anfield
no no no remember hE waS sHit AGainSt madrid!!
There was one moment i particularly liked yesterday. He received the ball and looked under pressure with two Leicester players on his back and heading to the touch line. I cannot really describe the move, but he essentially abruptly slowed down making both Leicester players go passed him to give him some breathing room. He then did a quick step over to change his angle in relation with the pitch and with the next movement played an incisive ball into the feet of Minamino (I think) on the edge of their box.
It was like he was on roller skates last night when he came on. Zigzagging in and out of players. Absolutely brilliant. When heās on it he is a sight to behold.
thatās something that Gini used to do as well, his ability to keep the ball at his feet and evade tacklers was something else. However Naby has that quick forward pass in his locker when he chooses to use it, which is a gift for us because itās the one thing which keeps our #9 from dropping too deep to collect the ball. I very much like seeing Naby and Bobby on the pitch together.
Heās gone up a level this season, his last two sub appearances have seen him take the game by the scruff of the neck (the burden of a Liverpool #8) and progress the team forward at every opportunity.
I loved his urgency last night to get the ball out of the crowd so Leicester could take his throw in as quickly as possible. He, Jota, Milner and Konate came on with the mentality that they were going to win the game for Liverpool, and they did.
Could be a mental switch that heās turned on. I remember Klopp, when he arrived, alluding to him being quiet and reserved in and around the squad and training and the like. I think heās realised he belongs and that he wipes the floor with the vast majority of midfielders in the league.
I dont know that I can buy that. I mean, he was thrown straight into the side after arriving, which is an indication that he hit the ground running, and has had multiple periods of really impressive performances. If I read that about Minamino after a good game Iād buy it. Not about Naby.
He got Maddison (prick) with the nuts too!
Pretty sure Maddison got smoked by someone later in the game though. Didnāt Milly run him over, or was it Ibra?
