Nathaniel PHILLIPS: 2021/22 (on loan at Bournemouth)

I mean he isn’t Xabi Alonso but I seem to recall he’s rather decent with the ball, and it’s mainly his lack of speed that’s the problem?

Probably should have waited a few more hours to post that one.

And that’s the ideal profile of a low block Prem team looking to play on the counter and nick a goal on a set piece. The teams in the bottom half should be jumping at getting Nat for 15mill. He’ll instantly improve them.

Plus, his distribution is solid. He has improved (relatively) in that respect.

But with covid, Matip being Matip, VVD and Gomez back from serious injuries, I’d prefer to keep him.

Yet Leicester City got £80M for a CB with the turning circle of a oil tanker.

£25M for Nat is a bargin in comparrison

It seems he would be leaving as early as in the January window. Good luck, lad.

tell me about it!

I’d keep him too. We still are in both the domestic cups and with covid, you’ll be looking at a very hurried and busy schedule.

But if the club don’t want to interfere with his future career , It will be a good deal. Insert a sell on/ buy back clause just in case he grows and becomes a better player later.

Might I suggest a trip to spec savers :grinning:

Probably worth more than 15mill but i would sell him, we got Rhys and Davies to recall if needed.

This is meant as no dig at Phillips he’s improved drastically but a lot of why he looks good is the system and the players around him. In a team like Newcastle I think he’d look pretty average.

No doubt, but credit to him he’s had some fantastic moments of defending as well. Personally I’ll be sorry to see him leave but I understand his position, and who am I to argue with Klopp?

There’s something about a cult central defender.

Seriously, you would be happy rely on someone who we have never seen play or indeed may not even exist… over a proven performer

What’s this got to do with Harry Maguire… oh wait, sorry, I re-read.

Now, Sky Sports claim that Liverpool have turned down a £7 million offer from an unnamed Premier League side, while a number of Serie A clubs have made enquiries.

Nat also returned to training today.

Don’t know how seriously I should take Neil Jones, but he claims that Nat is on his way out during this window.

I think that was always the plan…
