Next Liverpool Head Coach

I trust we will make the wrong decision.

You must be the only one that i know that would want or have him at our club!

I know.

I’m fully behind the Spanish Owen Coyle, though.

I am not having him!

If it is from the Bundesliga, it has to be Sebastian Hoeneß of Stuttgart.

Liverpool might be closing on Andoni Iraola but James Pearce has listed six reasons why he feels the former Bournemouth boss represents a š˜®š˜¢š˜«š˜°š˜³ risk at Anfield.

Is this now ā€œPearce’s revengeā€ā€”because he was continuously fed false information for so long? Well, I probably won’t take him quite so seriously anymore—no matter what he writes.

Whooosh..!
I think the reference to his name was meant as a dig at us LFC fans @Maria - I never grasped it at first, but there we have it… another fanbase trying to be funny at our expense eh :0)

If you read what Pearce actually said, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it. The main problem is Teamtalk needlessly editorialising drama into it.

Like this: ā€œThe pressure, the scrutiny, the expectation is on a completely different planet.ā€ā€¦ they’re counting as three of his ā€œsix reasonsā€

Tony Pulis has endorsed Iraola, so maybe we should look elsewhere.

I dont think so. Pearce often writes downers. He is right though, there is a lot of risk involved.

One article i read last night for example was saying his teams conceded a lot of goals from set pieces.

Say what you like about our recruitment team, they have a type.

There is so much talk about Iraola that we shouldn’t be surprised if, completely out of the blue and totally unexpectedly, we end up signing Sebastian Hoeness after all. It wouldn’t be the first time the press has been led down a false trail.

I don’t know a lot about Hoeness admittedly but everything I have seen makes him just look like the wish.com Jurgen Klopp. I’d be concerned about trying to recapture the same magic again.

It also why I think Man City have got their appointment wrong. Just a lesser version of what they had before.

I’m just wondering when we will hear something. It wouldn’t surprise me if it was today. I wasn’t expecting an announcement on Saturday. I thought that they would postpone any major club announcements until after the unveiling of the new Heysel memorial, but I wasn’t expecting anything major until this week.

If I look back here at lunchtime, and there are a gazillion posts and I’m logged out I’ll know something has gone on.

Actually, I get alerts from the club app, but there are so many that are either flogging merch or encouraging me to watch highlights from a match we were shite in, I rather temper my excitement.

I think the fact it was a sacking, rather than by mutual consent, they probably felt they had to run with the announcement a bit sooner than they would have otherwise done.

If it is Iraola, one of the first things he’ll have to do is go to that famous dentist.

I have to say that I would really like to see him here someday. And not just because he resembles Klopp—though, to be fair, that might actually be more of a German cultural thing anyway. I simply like the style of football he implements and his general demeanor. The fact that he’s being touted as the ā€œnext hot German coaching prospectā€ is, quite honestly, something he can’t help.

This should resolve the Reinen mystery. I’d definitely trust Pearce (or any other journalist) over Jason Burt.
