Next Liverpool Head Coach

Alan Pardew haven’t yet, so it’s still status quo.

isnt any player or manager a risk?

Was thinking that

Though Pearce confirms the obvious which is he wasn’t actually appointed and it’s just something to get fans to rile at.

Yes, but someone with fewer data points is always going to be considered riskier than someone who has evidence of success.

I think the compensation being mentioned was not because he had been hired but because we had led him to believe he was to be hired and so quit his job?

While some have doubts about Iraola, which is fair enough… with regards Enrique, yes he has the talent and experience, but how do we know he isn’t reaching the point of ‘burn-out’ in next 18months.
I mean the guy has been there and done it for so long now, but can’t help having a niggling doubt whether he has the energy or enthusiasm to begin again at another club… the guy looks tired to me, as in, it would take more than a fortnight in the sun to get him looking back to his best…
If it is Iraola, then we start pushing the train again… but so what, that is part of the fun is it not.

I read an article in the Athletic at the weekend that said PSG had not had a proper break for 2 years because of playing in the World Club Championship last summer!

That would be the stuff of dreams to have Millie at the club again. Bring him in!!!

On Iraola: I’m quite excited about this potential appointment. Yeah, he has no CL experience, and the step up is massive. But this hasn’t the feel of another Rodgers appointment, not at all. This is a man who has consistently overachieved wherever he has coached, and most importantly, who has been able to overcome difficult moments and come back stronger than before. The way he has brought Bournemouth of all clubs to the fore is nothing but impressive. I’ve rated him highly since I became aware of him as a manager. His public demeanour before and after games, that mixture between a calm, laid-back politeness, and a fire, an iron willingness to win games, has been clearly visible since day one. Obviously, that translates well enough towards his players.

So, if he gets the appointment, and I fully expect it, then he’ll have to learn how to manage the short recuperation between games, and of course the high expectations coming with this job. But he’ll likely embrace the challenge, and as he has already shown, will be able to quickly learn along the way. If he can maintain a clear vision of what he wants to do, and communicate it towards the fans, he’ll get the necessary time to build towards it. That’s the good thing with fsg, and also with the Liverpool supporters.

Really looking forward to see what he can do with us! :flexed_biceps:

Congratz Milly on an outstanding career, brilliant attitude and a work ethic 2nd to none.

Would be great to have on as a coach.

I don’t know I thought shitty replacement manager Maresca is perfect especially if he achieves the same results as at Chelsea.

Surely Liverpool have to employ him as part of the managers backup team.

Every time I see him he looks more haggardly and his voice sounds spent from all the shouting.

He’s had to contend with the loss of Mbappe, which for him and PSG clearly was the right decision but it’s hard to know things are going to work out when you lose such a star.

He’s had to put an awful lot of energy into moulding admittedly the most talented group of players in world football. But they’re young players with already strong egos and that can’t have been easy to put together.

He’s also lost his little girl in heartbreaking circumstances which will leave its mark on him for the rest of his life.

He’s got a very young squad, many of whom will only improve. Lives in Paris. Gets paid loads. Can pretty much bolster his squad with whoever he pleases.

Won CLs at two clubs. Does he really want to come to us? I’m not convinced.

We don’t know that and I just think it’s again something to agitate fans with. Slot was always going face a review and the club will have expressed concerns, it’s been mentioned that Edwards had words.

I think some people just want to complain about the club, I am willing to give this guy a chance, I don’t think there is a manager out there with a guarantee of success or must have (And there was people on here with doubts on Klopp).

Three-peat opportunity with PSG and then I can imagine he’s on City’s radar once Maresca flops.

Be the man after the man after Pep.

Rumors are circulating with increasing intensity that a former player will be joining the coaching staff. And, after all, there really aren’t that many Spanish-speaking players who would actually be viable candidates.
