Same here but that’s more wishful thinking, I don’t really know anything about his coaching credentials. That said, I think that a football player of his experience, intelligence and general understanding of football and players should try to have a career in coaching.

As for Milner… Of course I’d have him back in a heartbeat! He’d probably have to do his badges first, right?

As @Jabu will tall you, in risk based assessments you distinguish between risks and issues when evaluating the potential for speed bumps ahead.

Risk are things that may happen, usually related to a known unknown. In my work we might identify a risk as being something like ā€œwe dont know how the perspective of the FDA will change under Kennedy by the time we are ready to submit our approval for this new drugā€ and for Iraola, ā€œwe dont know how he will adapt to midweek games every week.ā€

Issues are things you know about and will have to navigate - ā€œOur manufacturer is facing a supply shortage of the material needed to make those caps that go on the drug vialā€.

When we talk about potential replacement managers the focus tends to be on the risks of the known unknowns. We rarely give the known issues of experienced manager A being an utter ball bag the same sort of consideration, or use that baggage of a more known entity to reframe the problem of ā€œrisksā€ associated with younger up and comers.

Can’t find much info on Bournemouth’s current coaching staff.

I know Tommy Elphick is his assistant (or one of a few) and that Spanish guy de la Torre is their fitness coach.

I wonder if Xavi Valero will remain as the goalkeeper coach or we will change all roles entirely.

This is one where the key is what Iraola wants and what Hughes also judges is the best possible. I don’t want romantic moves, just what’s best for us.

Milly famously can speak Spanish, having learned it from the Spanish speaking players at City.

No premier league club is hiring a former player for what is today a scientific role on the basis that he himself was a fit and hard working player. Its comically stupid

It really feels like a lot of accounts trying to get clicks by throwing out things they know the fan base will want to hear. I am very much in ā€œexcited about the possibilities, but emotionally committing to nothing until I see one of the club linked journos put their name on something being definitiveā€ mode

Journalists close to the club who post endlessly about keeping Slot? :joy:

Yeah but I chose not to believe that. This isnt a ā€œhard scienceā€

I think—or rather, I suppose—I’ll just choose to believe everything I’d like to be true for now; after all, that certainly worked out for Slot.

There will be plenty of time later to come back down to earth. :slightly_smiling_face:
