Ja if Slot stays Iâve got a bad feeling about the direction of our play. Heâs been on about Arsenal, set piece stats etc. Wouldnât surprise me if he thinks thatâs the way to go. He got fixated on PSG as well and seems to be a reactive coach.
Iâll caveat that with it just being a vibe on my part.
Apparently, Etienne Reijnen who held the post of âVideo Analyst & Adviser Technical Staffâ wasnât so effective to RVP who had a rocky season at Feyenoord that RVP had to ask Dick Advocaat to give crucial tactical and strategic advice to him for the final stretch of the season. Feyenoord dropped from 1st to 2nd and stayed their ever since with a 19 points gap from the top of the table.
Yes, I saw the post but I think you are jumping to conclusions too early. Advocaat has close links with Feyernoord and has done similar supporting roles before. He also has a close relationship to RVP.
RVP is a very inexperienced manager who has had to contend with a series of injuries to the side. Advocaat criticised him earlier this year for some of the comments he was making in public about the players.
I havenât seen any online articles suggesting that Advocaatâs role is because of any failure on Reijnenâs part. If the latterâs role has been confined largely to set pieces then heâs done his job and the wider issues are not as a result any failure on his part.
Weâll just have to wait and see what his role here is and whether we see an improvement.
Just bring in Tony Pulis. Fucking hell his excuses are tired. We bought technical players but this season the game has changed and set pieces are in. So are we just going to ask if we can get a refund on Wirtz, Frimpong, etc?
Glad to hear it. Iâd go so far as to suggest that your crime would have lost you your dominant hand back in ye-olde-Internet-1.0 days. Youâre getting off easy! Donât think Itâll be easy to come back incognito ala @dildo and we wonât notice your new disguise - Iâll be on the lookout for ProfDamn and
Has Reijnen signed? If he has, Slot is here for next season. If he hasnât, then maybe itâs a case of âThis is the path we will go down IF we are retaining Slotâ but the fundamental decision about Slot has not been taken yet.
Maybe with Henry in town for the last game there will be a meeting. I know he is not hands on in that way, but the suits will report to him, and surely there will be a decision about Slot. If he stays, help him with signings, such as a winger or two, and also Reijnen.
If he goes, it will be swift and a new man will be installed.
No and its interesting that there is a notable difference in the framing of this among some of the journos. Looking to vs considering. I think the broader point you make explains why that distinction is important. A huge part of my job is going to lengths to âconsiderâ options weâre pretty sure weâre not going to take, but its important you turn over every stone before jumping to the option you were already leaning towards. Is this simply part of the exploration of what it would take to give Slot an opportunity to turn it around, the existance of which does not demonstrate a commitment to doing it? Or is this a real committed step weâve already decided to take?
I know we donât see a lot of him, but I was thinking he would come and take in the last game, get the âfeelâ of the crowd for himself, and also have a key meeting or two.
If he doesnât come, it might indicate a few things. Maybe the decision on Slot is already made? Maybe a review has already been done? Maybe he is even less hands on because a sale is on the cards? Who knows!
But Iâm thinking he will be here. Could be wrong, letâs see.
