Next Liverpool Head Coach

Maybe he has this wild cutting-edge idea about perhaps defending on set-pieces?

Our main problems early this season are set-pieces (both offensive and defensive),poor general open play movement, poor fitness, poor OOP shape and the general inability to break down deep blocks. However, as the season went on, defensive fragility in set-pieces have largely dissipated but all the other problems remains.

It is simply not in Etienne Reijnen’s skillset to solve all the other existing problems. Even with addition of Etienne Reijnen and new wingers, the same problems will still continue with the same set of coaches at helm.

True. ̶P̶r̶o̶b̶a̶b̶l̶y̶ Surely you too. :slightly_smiling_face:
I’ll bite their hand for it, for a song…YNWA of course.

There are lots of people who think they would be a great football manager because they are great on FIFA on the PlayStation.

I’m useless at computer games. If I managed Liverpool, you would end up with the goalkeeper passing into his own net, the centre forward repeatedly headbutting the post, and after half time everything would be in Japanese for reasons that no one can determine, resulting in the entire stadium being rebooted.

I’m much worse than you.
Never played computer and handphone games before.
If, massively gigantic if, I’m the gaffer, LFC will end up with zero fans. :sob:

Ok I will do it. Let’s get the jumpers out.

Can we close this. It will eventually be reopened but.

The good news?

He won’t be doing any of the running himself

Reijnen better be Ayesteran, Buvac, Kraweitz, Lijnders rolled into one…

I think Iraola has a huge advantage with his PL experience of a few years and he performed well considering his technical director trying to sell half the team every year.

Slot is staying i think, after seeing the above headline.:frowning:.

That’s it. We are toast next season.
That’s two good managers that have slipped away, who could have managed Liverpool next season.

Not sure I’m too bothered, he’s obviously staying but I’m not sure we are missing out on much.

Bar the fact we can write off most of next season.

He is already 56 and has implied in interviews that he doesn’t expect to continue coaching after he turns 60, so I’m not sure I see him coming here, particularly if he is signing a new contract this summer at PSG.

Although I guess if he doesn’t sign it, or commits to only one more year with them, then it’s possible he comes here for one last hurrah.

Considering the relentlessly mediocre alternatives (realistically), of course Arne is the right way to go.

Is Enrique’s contract running out?

I wouldn’t call Iraola and Hoeness any more mediocre than Arne Slot…

This June would start his final year if he doesn’t sign an extension…

Not sure if that’s a real quote.
