You’re right, mate, I changed the thread title.
Let’s see what happens on Saturday if PSG lose then we have a good chance of getting him but if they win they may persuade him to stay another season.
And you believe talkshite about the news.
Well, I can only hope it is not true though…
I don’t know I think he loves a challenge when he took over at PSG they were in turmoil and it took him a while to stabilise the situation, in fact they nearly sacked him when things were taking so long.
I would have assumed the opposite. A win on Saturday would could mean that he is satisfied that his job there is now complete?
I think he is too well liked for the board to want to get rid of him.
If the club is planning on changes then we won’t hear until next week at the earliest. Today, they are unveiling the new Heysel memorial. They won’t want to overshadow that. I imagine that they are annoyed about the Konate news (there is no mention on the official website.)
I’d say it’s exactly the opposite.
There were days to do it without any issues…
Horncastle and Pearce touched on it a few days ago. Horncastle said if they’re planning to remove Slot, they would’ve done it by now. But yes, the season review might still be ongoing (even if Slot is staying).
And the journalists’ story on Konate is news to us, it isn’t news to the club I don’t think.
but I suspect that they didn’t want it clogging the headlines today.
It’s almost impossible to prevent.
The season is over, Konate has a month left on his deal. The club can’t possibly be shocked if that’s the outcome, because the club is one of the two sides that couldn’t come to an agreement.
The public possibly finding out what will happen with him today is no big deal really.
If they want to sack Slot, there’s plenty of calm enough days to do it. There’s been a few already.
It’s always possible that the club operates something similar to purdah. I’m expecting something big to be announced. Not necessarily to do with Slot, but something that they want to co-ordinate.
I have no idea.
I’m patient and taking it easy. We won’t get all answers about what will happen this summer in the next couple of days. We saw last summer how things can become complicated and not always in our control…
I’m just saying if they’ve decided to sack Slot, there was already a perfect little window of days to do it. I even highly doubt that a few articles about Konate today would prevent them from announcing it, if that’s what they want to do.
Well, I don’t think they would because of the Heysel anniversary. Obviously we will find out in due time. At the moment I’m just pressing refresh on news outlets, expecting an update like a pigeon pecking for corn in a conditioning experiment.
Today? Maybe not (and I’m not even 100% sure that would block them from doing it), but the season ended a good few days ago. If it happens after the season review ends, it’s also possible. But it’s not like all days so far were occupied by something that prevented us from doing it.
If Slot was going hed be gone by now. Simple as that.
I think the opposite may be truer. If PSG win then he may think “My work here is done. Time to move on.”
Getting Enrique would depend a lot on what he wants to do, and what he wants from his next career move. If he leaves PSG - which on winning another UCL I think he would probably consider - and he wants Premier league again - then Liverpool offer a decent challenge to finish off his career. Probably a lot of wishful thinking on my part, but it’s plausible.
I just hope that if Slot is here next season… we as a club, have a back pocket plan to trigger if we should be languishing in the bottom 4 or 5 clubs come Christmas time…
Some might scoff… and yes we have some of the most expensive signings in the PL, but when a team is disjointed as ours ends up in a tail spin towards relegation, it becomes difficult to correct…
Just saying… anything is possible with the speed of our demise
Eeeeek.!
Spurs should be a cautionary tale
